The Show Must Go On

I had done it. I had told Satine her
fate. She was now in her dressing room preparing to go break her heart. I
wondered why this had to happen.
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain of the pantomime
On and on, does anybody know what we
are living for?
That's what we
were. Pantomime players. We were who ever they wanted
us to be. We had no personality left. I saw my own thoughts reflected in the
eyes of the women around me while they sewed costumes and worked on
backgrounds. I had seen many love
affairs and seen many heart breaks. But none like this. Satine and Christian really loved each other.
A pure love. But all love comes to an end.
Whatever happens, we leave it all to
chance,
Another heartache,
another failed romance,
On and on, does anybody know what we
are living for?
I walked past
them and threw open the stage door. The sun was rising and slowly lighting up
the stage illuminating the busy stage hands and people going about working on
back drops.
Outside the dawn is breaking on the
stage that holds our final destiny
The show must go on!
She had to do it.
She had to save him. She had to save us all. But by God I wish she didn’t.
