"Kitten"

By India

Pairing: Curt/Brian
Time: Ummm…'72.  Before that Thing that didn't happen.  I'm in denial  of the break-up.

It didn't happen. ::shakes head::  Nope.
Summary: The boys get caught in the rain.  Not terribly original, I'm
sure.  But still.
Author's Note:  Yeah, I know.  It's fluffy.  But they're cute when they're not ripping one another's throats out…Not been beta'ed.  All mistakes are mine.

Rain fell around them, a few drops sneaking through the leafy canopy of the tree the stood huddled under in the middle of the park.  "Bloody fabulous." Brian picked at the wet fabric of his
pants, "I hate the fucking rain.  I hate it."
Curt grinned at Brian's displeasure.  It could hardly be taken seriously when his hair was plastered to his head like that. Besides, his eyeliner was smudged all the way down his cheek.
            "What's so funny?"
Trying and ultimately failing to suppress a giggle, "You are.  Standing there, the epitome of pissed off rock star-ness when you look like a drenched kitten."  Brian merely glared.  "In a cute
way?"
Brian snorted in distaste, "Thanks, Curt.  You make me feel so much better.  I look like a wet kitten."  He shivered and wrapped his arms around himself.  "A cold, wet kitten in the middle of what's beginning to resemble a fucking lake."
A touch of sarcasm, "You poor baby."  He drew Brian to his chest, "Better?"

Sighing into his chest, he cuddled closer, "Much.  You're nice and warm, love."
After a moment, he was giggling again, "Are you purring?"
"I am not!"  Feeling the chill ebb away, Brian sniffed, "And even if I was purring, I've got a good reason."
            "Oh?"
"Yeah.  Who wouldn't be content in the arms of a wet Curt Wild?"
Curt laughed, "I like your reasoning."
The rain pattering around them and Curt's heartbeat in his ears, Brian watched a raindrop track it's way down the other man's arm.  This was nice.
Gradually the rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds.  Sighing, he released Brian and stepped back, "Looks like we're free to go now."
Brian didn't hear a word, didn't hear the biker whizzing by or the birds reclaiming the skies, entranced instead by the way Curt's shirt clung admirably in all the right places. "Bri?  Did you
hear a word I said?  We can go now, if you want."
Smiling, he kissed him, tasting the cigarettes and alcohol, the shared pain and passion, tasting Curt and loving it.  "I love you.  Fuck, do I love you."
Curt smiled back. "I love you, too, Bri."
Breaking apart, they merely smiled and wrapped an arm around one another, as close as they could get.
            "You know what?"
He nuzzled Brian's neck as they walked, attracting the attention of a passerby, "What?"
"I think I like the rain."
