| Chapter Three Christian figured doing something would help him think, so he stood up and began to make coffee. Thoughts flew though his mind like leaves caught in an updraft. War. Home. Martha. Love. Child. Thomas Hathaway. Life. Happiness. Satine. Everything Christian lived for despised the idea of war. Hate, deathhe shuddered and forced the thoughts away. But his sister needed his help. He could sense the honesty and helplessness in Marthas letter. Christian leaned his hands against the counter and looked down, sighing heavily. Good morning, my sweet boy, Satine spoke sleepily from the doorway to the kitchen. She wore a pink satin robe, and Christian couldnt help but smile at his angel. But Satine could see the worry in his eyes. She automatically walked over to him and took his hands in her own. Christian, whats the matter? I cant hide anything from you, can I? Christian spoke, smiling just a little. Satine kissed his neck and cradled his head in her hands. No, I guess you cant, she whispered into his hair. Christian pulled her away, and told her everything. She listened very attentively, never wandering from his eyes. I havent seen my sister in 16 years, Satine. I find it hard to believe that Martha expects me to go to warfor her I think you know what you have to do, Christian. But, I-I dont want to leave you alone with our- Shh Satine saw the tears brimming in his eyes, but she knew what he needed to do. She took him in a warm embrace, and gently ran her fingers through his hair. Listen to that voice telling you what to do. Its telling you the right thing. I love you, Satine. *** Reims, France ~ July 8th, 1914 The following month quickly went by, and Christian prepared to leave. Satine was with him for every agonizing moment. She held his free hand while with shaky script, filled out the forms to enlist. She helped him pack for the months, possibly years that would pass so slowly. Satine even took him to a stationary shop where they picked out handfuls of paper and cards and pens that they would use to write letters while they were apart. She did everything with him, leading up to the painful day that she wouldnt be there to help him anymore. The night before he left, after a beautiful dinner by candlelight, Satine rolled over in bed and kissed her poets cheek. Goodnight, Christian, she murmured. Satine he whispered into her damp hair lying beside him on the pillow. Am I doing the right thing? Christian, if you take this leap of faith, your heart will tell you that youre right. He kissed her hair. I love you. Ill miss you. There was a long silence between the two, and all that was heard were two crickets outside the window softly singing in the night. Christian sighed, letting Satine feel his chest move gently up and down. She did the same, and turned her head to kiss his shoulder. Her lips moved up his neck in small delicate pecks, finally arriving at Christians mouth. He stared adoringly at his glowing angel, as she left tiny kisses on the edge of his lower lip. Satine Christian breathed. She answered him in a sweet song. One night with you, Can I ask you, tonightAsk you tonight Christian felt the words echo through him in a ghostly and unforgettable way. What would I do, for your answer tonight, to be yes tonight, One night, to last forever Satine planted kisses all along Christians jaw, and back down his neck once again. Her dainty lips grew wider and wider as she let her tongue slide down his chest. Christian shivered and closed his eyes, feeling Satines passion grow along with his own. She lifted her head from his body, staring into his eyes from above, and whispered one last verse to her love. The feeling won't stop there. No, no Christian answered her in song, voicing his truest thoughts. It goes right on and on she whispered, returning back down to his chest. Goes right on and on he replied, gazing at the ceiling as if in a dream. Keeps on getting stronger, and stronger Satine breathed onto his body, beginning again to passionately kiss his waist and the sides of his hips. Strongerandstronger he barely squeezed out between gasps. The lovers couldnt speak nor sing to each other after that moment, for their steaming passion had taken over. The pace of Christians breathing quickened and grew louder into sharp moans, as Satine ran her fingertips all over his body. She soon lifted her head and moved to hover her lips directly above Christians. Before leaning in to softly kiss him, she raised her right leg and let it sink into the bed cushion on the opposite side of Christian, her knee grinding against his hip. Christians hands found Satines legs and began to caress them slowly at first, moving up to her behind and trickling up her spine, sending shivers through her. He finally brought his hands to rest on Satines protruding stomach, as Satine brought her head closer to Christians. He slowly and gently bit her lower lip, letting her taste fully take him in. Mmm he moaned, as Satine slid her tongue into Christians mouth at an agonizingly slow pace. They explored each others taste and being for many moments, and when the finally parted, they were both breathless. As soon as Satine opened her eyes and found the will to move on, she put her hands on his chest, and lifted her pelvis off of his stomach. One night, to last forever she spoke barely above a whisper, lowering her self into Christians rising passion. She gasped, her mouth flying open and her head desperately jerking back. Christian grabbed onto the bed sheets on either side of him, while he moaned heavily, closing his eyes. Theyre bodies joined as one, as they found their pace. As he made slight noises every time he entered Satine, he looked at her heavenly figure, everything they ever experienced flashing before him. Satine slowly rose herself up and down, staring into Christians eyes full of love and heat. She felt as if everything were right in the world at that moment, and she wished nothing would ever change. But soon after, something inside her made a thunderous moan escape her mouth. Christian sensed her need for more, and began to thrust his pelvis up with more force, in turn pushing Satines knees off the bed and making her groan even louder. He felt the same thing inside himself and he began panting and gasping. He needed something to hold him back, yet he wanted to push his passionate fervor even further. As he entered her in full, Satine cried out and the word more was all she could vocalize. During Satine and Christians climax, she found that she didnt need to move at all, for Christian was lifting himself and Satine off of the bed at the fastest pace yet that night. Theyre culmination made electrical shockwaves run through every inch of Satines body, and she could barely feel her shaky legs. Christian saw stars, and felt more alive than he ever had before. After a long climax, their pace began to gradually slow down and they could hear themselves breathing once again. Any slight movement Christian made caused Satine to shiver with ecstasy. Slowly, Satine rose herself off of Christians panting body, and lowered herself down to his chest. She lay there for what seemed like a while, though neither one of the two could tell how long it actually was. Finally, she moved into a comfortable position lying next to Christian, her head resting on his shoulder. No words needed to be spoken between the two, but Satine felt the last line of the song that lived through her come to her lips. One night, to last forever, One dreamwe'll dream together Christian sighed, and thought only of Satine as they closed their eyes together and soon drifted off into dreams. In Christians world, Satine appeared before him dressed in the most beautiful wedding dress imaginable. But it wasnt their wedding day. They were on a stageand it was winter. A voice was heard from behind Christian in his dream. Come back to me and forgive everythingSeasons may changewinter to springI love you. Til the endof time. Satine sang to him. The emotions from that magical night flew through him like butterflies. He felt as is he would burst at any moment, for the love began to return to him. He felt the urge come up through his heart and onto his lips to sing out to Satine. Comewhatmay He had done it. His heart won him over and he turned around towards his love, but before he knew it, the dream that seemed to have lasted foreverhad ended. Reims, France ~ April 20th, 1917 Nightgown! Sara cried out in success, somehow knowing she spoke the word correctly. Satine found herself still staring out the window, and the sun had just dipped down over the horizon. Shades of pink and yellow sprung out as if saying the sunlight hadnt disappeared forever. It would return soon enoughas would Satines long ago memories Once, in the care of morning, in the air was all belonging. Once when that day was dawningI was with you. ~Song used- One Night Cliff Richard |
