Links

This page is the result of me spending far, far too much of my time browsing the web. But on the positive side, you can now benefit from my squandered life.
There are a lot of links here, as you can see. These have been divided into various categories and subcategories. I've tried to provide comments on them so as to help you, but that hasn't been possible in all cases.
Should you find one of these links to be broken, please mail me and let me know.

Fun Stuff

The Corpus of Electronic Texts - A wonderful resource put together by UCC, containing as many old Irish records, journals and common lore as it's possible to get.
The Alphabet Synthesis Machine - A nifty tool which takes a random squiggle drawn by you, extrapolates it into an entire alphabet and makes it into a truetype font you can download.
Something Awful - Non-work safe entertainment, but fun.
MGC - Monthly Gargoyles Contest - a monthly fan-art competition based on the Disney cartoon.
Talk like a Pirate Day - This is the official homepage of Talk like a Pirate Day, obviously. Which is September 19th. Contains tips on how to talk like a pirate, pirate games, and a huge amount of links. Lots o' fun mateys.
fidius.org - What's My Pirate Name? - Another worthwhile resource for Pirates, though one would assume that they already have names. Apperantly not! Thinkin' ain't for Pirates...
Happy Tree Friends - Cute, cuddly, and horribly wrong... It's the Happy Tree Friends! They may be sugary sweet but there's no way they'll escape their horrible fate!
x-entertainment.com - Very funny reviews of all those lovely products we loved in the 80s, a few more modern items, and a fun forum.
Mike Jittlov's WizWorld! - The Official Mike Jittlov Glow-In-The-Dark Webpage. Mostly containing details on the movie The Wizard of Speed and Time, but not the less cool for that.

Cool Stuff

sodaplay - I don't know how this works (the explanation provided is beyond me), but this site is filled with ... well ... creatures, which you can manipulate, lift, increase gravity or friction for, etc. ou can even build your own sodapet, if you're talented enough. Go now.
hubcap creatures.com - A graphics-heavy site for an artist who sculpts fish out of hubcaps, as well as other stuff. If your connection can handle it, go there, because these things are beautiful.

Gothy Stuff

So You've Decided to be Evil - A Step-by-Step Guide to joining the Forces of Darkness.
Tamagothi - A gothic version of the famous cyberpet. Give your pet the right amount of beatings, smack and speed, and watch it evolve. Or commit suicide. This link is to the downloadable software, for instructions go here.
Razor Blade Smile - Ultra low-budget english vampire flick. One of the most entertaining films I've ever seen, but you have to be in the right mood.
Salatrel's Goth Hunting Page - Tips and tricks for capturing your mopey prey alive. Alive-ish, anyway.
Winnie-the-Goth - (with apologies to A. A. Milne and Pooh, too)
Alice's Adventures in Floodland - With even more apologies to Lewis Carrol. Make sure you check the rest of Bob's Gothic Homepage, where this is hosted.
The Official Sonja Blue homepage - Nancy A. Collins' vampiric creation, this page contains some nice art pieces of Sonja Blue, but not really much else. Oh, and some dog photos.
georgearomero.com - Not strictly gothic (or even gothick), but anything with zombies has me sold.
Gothic.net - Probably the best gothic site out there. Fiction, columns, art, pretension, links. Sadly gone downhill recently
The Gothik Girls - The Powerpuff Girls as Goth. Sort of. Lots of strips, and a "make-your-own" package for Photoshop. Go there now.
Gothic.ie - Hub to a collection of Irish gothic homepages, and a guide to relevant events in the capitol.
Darksites - Free hosting, email, lots of good stuff & links.
Velvet.net - I nicked quite a few quotes from Velvets' site, so I think she should get a link.

Andy Warhol's Dracula - More Anno Dracula, still by Kim Newman

Team 8 SLA Industries -
IrishGaming.com Forum -
