Mutant Insects in TMNT&OS

One thing that was always missing from TMNT&OS was rules for insect mutations. Though briefly mentioned in the main rulebook and in After the Bomb, very little space was ever given to this idea. So I made my own.
(Yes, I know that some of these are actually arachnids and cephalapods. So sue me.)

Special Rules for Insects

  • Can never take Looks FULL, like octopi in Road Hogs.
  • BIO-E can sometimes be traded for extra limbs, as detailed in each section.
  • Most Hands FULL gives the insect three fingers and two opposable thumbs.
  • Flying insects never have hands on the end of their wings. Extra limbs are always grown, due to the frailty of insectoid wings.
  • Insects which can buy extra limbs are assumed to have converted legs to arms, they don't increase the number of total limbs, though they may be decreased at the players choice.

    Insect Types

    Cockroach (gromphadorhnia portentosa)
    Original Animal Characteristics
Description: Found all across the world, the cockroach is covered in a thick brown-black carapace, with long feathery antennae. Generally, the only dangerous part of a cockroach is the spikes which covers it's legs. Males also have "antler" lumps on their thorax. Cockroach will eat almost anything, but prefer dead leaves and animals. Almost entirely invulnerable to radiation poisoning, apparently.

    Fly (Bluebottle) (calliphora vomitoria)
    Original Animal Characteristics
Description: Found across the globe, flies live on rotting material and sweet foods taken from humans. Flies have either one or two pairs of wings, and are capable of impressive aerial stunts. They can taste or smell things with their feet, and can only eat solid foods. There are hundreds of varieties of fly, but very little real difference between them. All flies love to sunbathe, which warms their muscles and helps them to fly.

    Mantid (praying mantis)(mantis religiosa)
    Original Animal Characteristics
Description: There are thousands of species of mantids, vastly varying in size. They are thin predators which devour other insects, using camouflage and speed to catch their prey. Many impersonate flowers; the massive devil mantis and the orchid mantis in particular. Others disguise themselves as twigs or leaves, like the praying mantis. Hence there can be a great variety to appearance. All mantids have huge eyes, thin bodies, and the forelegs have adapted to become spined weapons. Also, mantids have an ear in the centre of their chests.

Large shell carried on back which the snail can withdraw into for protection. Eyes on retractable stalks, toothless mouth with long, barbed tongue used for chewing. Prefers dark and damp climates. Size levels vary immensely, though most snails are SL 1 or smaller. The giant African land snail can go up to 30cm long (Size level 3).

    Woodlouse (oniscus asellus)
    Original Animal Characteristics
Description: The woodlouse is found primarily in Europe. It belongs to the same group of animals as crabs, but has adapted to live on land over millions of years. It is tank-like, resting it's armoured body on roughly seven pairs of legs. It doesn't retain moisture very well, and will die if it gets too dry or stays out in the sun too long. It eats rotting flora and fauna, or sometimes live plants.

    Length: 1cm
    Weight: negligible
    Build: Short
