SGI Impressario Printer Support
Alias supports SGI's Impressario application. Impressario allows printer manufacturers to add SGI support for their printers. Consequently, since Alias uses Impressario to print, that support is added to Alias as well. At the time of writing, Impressario support was available for the following printers:
- Tektronix Phaser series printers
- Hewlett Packard LaserJet printers
- Apple LaserWriter printers
- SRS/Genicom 17D-II high speed laser printers
- Seiko Professional ColorPoint printers
It is expected that this list of printers will grow in the near future. As new printers are added to the list of printers supported by Impressario, these will automatically work with Alias. Contact your SGI representative for an updated list of printers supported by Impressario.
If you work on an SGI workstation, Alias also allows you to print to the following Tektronix printers supported by SGI's TekPhaser option:
- Tektronix Phaser II SX/DX

Compatibility with the TekPhaser option is maintained for
the benefit of customers who already own this option. It is
recommended that you purchase the Phaser Print for
Impressario option. Phaser Print for Impressario allows a
greater degree of control over the final image than
TekPhaser does.
