Shankar is a composer, singer and violinist. He plays
Indian
classical styles and incorporates them into Western
music. In
1982, he co-formed (with British composer Caroline)
a pop / rock
group called the Epidemics. This tune was composed for
Martin
Scorcese's film The Last Temptation of Christ.
