Walking Through the Mall

This is the corridor at the west end of the mall, just outside Loblaws. On the far right is a CIBC branch, and straight ahead is Black's. This Black's location was a Sooter's many years ago. At this time, CIBC plans to build a new bank branch on a vacant area on the northeast corner of the Oakridge Mall property, at the corner of Hyde Park Road and Royal York Road.

After passing CIBC and Loblaws, one turns to the right to continue through the mall. This here is the main corridor of the indoor portion of the mall. At far left is Good Health Naturally, which for many years was the picture framing shop Barker Galleries. At right is The Wine Shoppe, which can be seen in the next photo; also A Buck or Two, and Bentley. Wal-Mart was located further down the corridor on the left.

The Wine Shoppe.

This shot is looking westward towards Loblaws, from the former entrance to Wal-Mart. At left is a better view of Bentley, as well as the former Hallmark outlet. This is the location where the 2nd London Scout Troop held its Christmas gift-wrapping fundraiser for CJ'01, which I participated in on December 22 and 23, 2000. This was also the location of the Arthritis Society car raffle table that I helped the Knights of Columbus out with in February 2001. At right are the windows for the McDonald's inside Wal-Mart.

This was the entrace to the Wal-Mart store, once the hub of bustling shoppers at Oakridge Mall. A red, electric "WAL-MART" sign once was on the wall above the entrance. The glass doors over the entrance, as well as the windows, are covered in paper emblazoned with RioCan logos.

Up ahead is the main exit from the mall upon leaving Wal-Mart. At left is Wendell Holmes bookstore, Herbal Magic, and the former Algonquin Travel store.

Looking eastward from the entrance to the former Wal-Mart throgh the rest of the mall. The windows at left were for the Wal-Mart store. Further down at left is The Brandy Tree, a gift shop which closed down in March 2004, but continues to operate at Cherryhill Village Mall. At right is the Bank of Montreal, which left the mall in June 2004 and moved to a new location on the south side of Oxford Street. Further down the corridor, at centre, is a Century 21 display, which has been in Oakridge Mall for the past few years.
