| Hwy 53 was an alternate route to Hwy 2 between Woodstock and Brantford, and was part of a link from Brantford to the Niagara Peninsula before the freeway age. The highway ran from Hwy 2 at Eastwood to Hwy 20 at Elfrida. Hwy 53 ran concurrently with Hwy 2 from Brantford to Ancaster, and was a key link to Hamilton before Hwy 403 was completed. Hwy 53 was downloaded in 1997. |
