| King's Highway 48 |
| Hwy 48 is an important highway that links Markham and the rest of York Region with the south and east side of Lake Simcoe, a popular summer cottage area. It runs from 16th Ave in Markham north to Hwy 12 near Beaverton. Prior to downloading in 1997-1998, Hwy 48 continued south to Hwy 401 in Scarborough, and north along Hwy 12 and then east to Hwy 35 near Coboconk. |
