The Order of Saint Maurice
A nominee for the Order of Saint Maurice must have served the Infantry community with distinction and have demonstrated a significant contributioin in support of the Infantry Branch; must represent the highest standards of integrity, moral character, professional competence, and dedication to duty. The same medallion is use to signify with an attached piece connotating the different level or magnitude of postion. The levels are as follows:
Primicerius Nomination Application
Highest level for those who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the entire Infantry with the most significant award going to the Doughboys, each year. Must have influenced over 6,000 soldiers. (The same as a Theban Legion) Division or Separate Brigade level. Must have been Infantry Branch.
Nomination Application
Centurion
Middle level , Bde and Bn Officer/NCO leadership and special nominees for an outstanding contribution to the Infantry. Must have influenced over 2,000 soldiers. Brigade and Battalion level.� Must have been Infantry Branch.
Legionnaire
Nomination Application
Outstanding Infantrymen for conspicous contribution to the Infantry. Non-Infantry branch personnel eligible for this level.
Peregrinius
Nomination Application
Allied Infantry Officers who have served in/or supported the Infantry.
Civis
Nomination Application
Civilian award for supporters with significant or outstanding contributions to the Infantry.
Nomination Application
Shield of Sparta
Awarded to the spouse or female who has contributed significantly to the Infantry. The NIA's goal is to recognize the spouses of the Infantrymen and other esteemed ladies, in support roles, whose contributions deem speacial recognition by the Infantry Association and the Infantry community. The award is a token of appreciation for the sacrifice and commitment demanded of the wives and supporters of the Infantrymen. It further symbolizes these women as true patriots with selfless ideals and embodies their courage to send their Infantrymen into harms way.
