Bophuthatswana Defence Force

The Bophuthatswana National Guard (BNG) was established when the Bophuthatswana homeland became independent in December 1977. It was renamed the Bophuthatswana Defence Force (BDF) in 1979, and was incorporated into the new South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in April 1994.
