Long years of struggle ensued, during which the Imperials regained strength, pushing back the Alliance until the majority of worlds, including the vital Imperial System, fell once again under Imperial control. NOTE: Dark Horse Comics' original plans to release Lightsider as a graphic novel, illustrated by Dave Dorman, fell through before a final manuscript could be delievered or the artwork could be begun. An attempt was then made to have Veitch adapt the existing graphic novel manuscript as a comic series. Unfortunately, plans for releasing Lightsider in any form were soon abandoned due to creative differences between Dark Horse Comics and Veitch. This entry will remain in The Star Wars Literature Compendium as a tribute to Tom Veitch's work in the Star Wars "expanded universe" and symbolize hope that some version of Lightsider will eventually see the "light" of day.
NOTE: Although it is public knowledge that the author of The Star Wars Literature Compendium possesses a copy of Lightsider, please do not e-mail him with requests to reveal particulars regarding the story beyond what Tom Veitch has already revealed in various interviews and live internet discussions.
