The water body at Midland Quarry is one of the deepest in the country at 35-38m. The pictures above are of Stoney Cove at Soney Stanton Leicestershire which attracts some 60,000 visitors a year, principally at weekends. Wrecks have been placed within the quarry for adventure and also for training of divers and mini submarine crews. The different levels allow divers to operate at novice intermediate and expert levels. There is a diving shop, school and pub. The built development would have a remarkable feature in the adjacent water body, cliffs, waterfall, diving and waterskiing as well as benefitting from being part of a site of regional and national importance. Midland Quarry can compliment diving locations at Stoney Cove and Dosthill, Tamworth. We have approached a diving school operator to partner or control the development. We can offer 20 acres of spring fed water and depths to the necessary 100'. Excess water can be pumped to the adjacent canal or put over the quarry face to create a waterfall in summer with the excess water evaporating from the fall. facilities could include diving school underwater platforms at 10' 20' and 30' water treatment to improve visibility air station on site Floating docks All Facilities, pub, shops etc even perhaps an Esporta Sunken wrecks Fish but no sharks!
