| This sectionof the site is dedicated to a special bus service that ran on Route 65, called Tracline 65. It ran from Short Heath to Birmingham. For most parts of the route, the bus would run along a special track, a guided busway, which controlled the bus. Similair systems to this are currently being introduced across the country on some routes by first plc The aim is to make bus journeys quicker, as they can jump traffic, which will also help to make more accurate arrival times..The route was run by WMPTE. Here are some photos of the special Trackline Route. The service was only an experiment and eventually discointinued round about the late 1980s. |
