The Watts Towers were built single-handedly from 1921 to 1954 by Simon Rodia.
The structures are made of steel and are covered with mortar.
They are decorated with
pieces of ceramic tile, pottery shards, sea shells, and broken
glass. The tallest tower is more than 30 meters high.
It is an amazing sight to walk between the towers and to study the details.
The guided tour costs only $2 and is highly recommended.
This panorama was taken in October 2001, after the restoration. It shows the court
between the towers, including the gazebo from the outside.
