Here are several "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" photographs that I do not
feature on other pages of
The Mary Kay Place Place.  Additionally, there are
many of the non-Mary Kay Place "MH2" pictures that I
feature elsewhere repeated here for easier consolidated viewing.

This is a graphics heavy page.

These first six images are my attempt to recreate the look of Mary Hartman's kitchen TV set and are either video captures of the program or are television related in theme.  I figured that the idea had run its course after these six and I've included the same shots in their original form just in case you don't appreciate the odd format.

George showed up at the doorstep chanting one Christmas after disappearing for several weeks.  He had fallen victim to the cult of the Bogus Zidi!
Maybe these moments weren't
too rare
George was also
victim to a union
frame-up with a hooker.  Here's a photo synopsis of the dirty deed.

Show"
Greg Mullavey

Dabney Coleman
was able to perfectly blend evil with comedy in his role as Merle Jeeter
Charlie Haggers (Graham Jarvis) was somehow convinced to try for a more youthful look.  The result is not-so-great.
Merle Jeeter would stoop to any level in order to become mayor of Fernwood.
Martha was well known for talking to her plants, a popular fad in the 1970's.
Charlie Haggers-
Loretta's ever-lovin'

Bruce Solomon
played Mary's (extra-marital) love interest, Sgt. Dennis Foley with a kind of creepy charm
Ironically, it was Mary who nursed Mae back to health (in her Mary's own bed!) after Mae attempted suicide
The comedy was uniquely "MH2" when Mary served Mae her breakfast in bed.

Louise Lasser said of her "MH2" experience, "It's been scary.  I can't let go yet, because I'm afraid of what I'll find out when I do."
Mary made an unfortunate visit
to Blanche (Reva Rose) and
Leroy (Norman Alden) Fedders'
home when Leroy had the flu.
Unfortunately, and, infamously, Leroy
drowned in Mary's chicken soup.
Blanche Fedders demands to know,
"Is this the cheapest funeral you could arrange?
Are you sure?"
David Rounds as the minister who delivered a mighty weird funeral service for Leroy Fedders in the Hartman kitchen
In 1977, Reiss Games, Inc. produced the "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" Board Game in order to capitalize
on the show's
success.
Mary has to go home to clean under her kitchen table or to wax her floor, or another character gets sent somewhere.
Yes, he is quite dead.
Mary seems more upset than Blanche.
These are the game pieces.  Each player gets one Mary and two "Episode Cards."
The object of the game is to get the four characters on your episode card in a Fernwood locaction.
However, your opponents may also need the characters you need for their episode cards.
And when one lands on an "Action Card" space, any number of character moves may take place-
Sound confusing?  It probably was for anyone who ever tried to play it too.  It didn't really catch on.  But it's still an interesting "MH2" artifact.
There were "MH2" T-Shirts, modeled here by a guy who was recently selling one on ebay.
Marie Osmond spoofed Mary on the "Donny and Marie Show's" "Marie Heartburn, Marie Heartburn"
(seen with guest Florence Henderson)
"The Carol Burnett Show" did the best parody of "MH2" with "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary."  Carol played a nursery rhyme version of Louise,
while Vicki Lawrence played Loretta and Jim
Nabors played Charlie.

Of course, "MH2" had to have a spinoff show.  Martin Mull took the reins as Barth Gimble, Garth's twin brother, on the brilliant "Fernwood 2-Night" after Garth's character was killed off.
