“There is only the Lord
Dragon and the Light! All else is
illusion, a snare set by the Shadow!”
- Masema Dagar, Prophet of the Dragon Reborn
DRAGONSWORN
Dragonsworn are former civilians and soldiers, sometimes even Lords and Ladies with their armies, who realize that the Rand al’ Thor is the Dragon Reborn and have sworn fealty to him. They know that he is their Salvation against the Dark One and currently occupy lands in Ghealdan and northern Amadicia where they preach of the Dragon’s rebirth and convert others to the Sworn. They are often seen traveling around the countryside, looking for the Dragon Reborn, but sometimes just send one or two people to find him. Unfortunately the name Dragonsworn is also given to brigands and looters, which is not to say that the Sworn practice the Way of the Leaf. Those faithful to the Dragon have been known to be vicious and cruel on occasion in their attempts to show others the truth of their words. Apart from this, most Dragonsworn are a rag-tag group of unskilled fighters armed with rusty swords and pitchforks, trying to find the Dragon Reborn and help him in the Last Battle. Though they claim to follow the Dragon Reborn, they are not under his direct control, and are rather followers of the Prophet. They view any use of the One Power to be evil, with the exception of the Dragon Reborn himself.
THE PROPHET
The Dragonsworn are led by the Prophet
Masema Dagar, or more accurately the Prophet of the Dragon Reborn. A one time Shienaran soldier he is now the
spiritual leader of the Dragonsworn. He
has deep set, almost black eyes that never seem to blink, has no sense of humour
and hates Aiel. He was with the group
who sought the Horn of Valere from Padan Fain.
When he realised Rand was the Dragon Reborn, he shaved his head
completely and became a zealot, preaching Rand’s greatness. His words catch fire among the people and it
is no wonder that the ranks of the Sworn grow with each passing day. He has now become as powerful as a King.
“The Shadow hangs over the
world, and only the Lord Dragon can save us.
Only belief in the Lord Dragon, submission and obedience to the word of
the Lord Dragon. All else is useless,
even where it is not blasphemy.”
- Masema Dagar
UTTER DETERMINATION
Only a Proclaimer may have this skill.
The warrior is determined to fight to the bitter end, steeling his
comrades on towards victory. This skill
allows the warband to re-roll any failed Rout tests.
FANATICAL
The Dragonsworn is convinced that the Last Battle has begun and fights with extreme malice to ensure the Lord Dragon is victorious. Add +1 to all injury rolls caused by the model in hand-to-hand combat. Note that this skill cannot be combined with the Combat skill Strike to Injure.
CRAZED
The Dragonsworn’s mental
state has deteriorated so much that he believes all his opponents are
Darkfriends or Shadowspawn. The model
therefore suffers from frenzy following the normal rules.
RIGHTEOUS FURY
The Dragonsworn
feels cold fury and utter contempt towards anything they believe is connected
to the Dark One. The model therefore hates
all Shadowspawn, Shadowsworn or channelers they face in combat.
ABSOLUTE
FAITH
The Dragonsworn puts his faith in the Creator and the Dragon Reborn, and faces dangers unflinchingly. He therefore does not have to take an All Alone test if he is fighting alone against several opponents.
Choice of Warriors
A Dragonsworn warband
must include a minimum of five models. You have 500 gold marks to recruit your
initial warband. The maximum number of warriors in the warband may never exceed
20.
Commander: Each Dragonsworn warband
must have one Commander. No more, no
less!
Proclaimer: Your warband may include up
to one Proclaimer.
Devout: Your
warband may include up to three Devout.
Squadsmen: Your warband may include up
to five Squadsmen.
Sworn: You must have a greater number of Sworn models
than the total number of other models in your warband to represent the hordes
of former civilians who flock to the Prophet of the Dragon Reborn.
A Commander starts with 20 experience.
A Proclaimer starts with 8 experience.
Devout start with 0 experience.
Henchmen start with 0 experience.

A Commander is the most
skilled warrior available to the Dragonsworn warband. He may have joined the Dragonsworn willingly but it is more than
likely that some Lord or Lady of Ghealdan has felt pressured or forced by the
Prophet and his followers to give up their army for the cause of the Dragon
Reborn. Commanders are usually well equipped
and are strong leaders.

Proclaimers are fanatics obsessed with the Last Battle and the Dragon Reborn. They wander the countryside, preaching of the Rebirth and that all must turn to the Dragon Reborn or die. They often misinterpret the laws laid down by the Prophet, which can cause innocent men to be accused as being Darkfriends and executed for that reason. They have been known to be vicious and cruel on occasion in their attempts to show others the truth of their words. They are generally not well-equipped fighters and wear little armour if any.

Persuasive Speaker: A Proclaimer is a persuasive
speaker, able to inspire his followers with the force of his words. The Proclaimer steels the wills of those
around him with a powerful speech on the importance of fighting against all who
oppose the Lord Dragon. All warband
members within a 6” range of the Proclaimer become immune to fear. But if the
Proclaimer is taken out of action, any Sworn within 6" will fear the
warrior that took him out of action as the models concerned will have just
witnessed their great leader (who had been stirring them to such valour)
suddenly cut down...

Devout are men and women who
have given up their lives completely for the service of the Lord Dragon. Whilst
they might have been peasants and craftsmen before, their determination and
fanaticism should not be underestimated.
They are generally not well-equipped warriors but they believe their
faith is all they need.
