For the past few years, Divinity Destroyed has been the best unsigned metal band that I've come across. I've played them on the show since 2000, and they always receive great feedback from listeners. Lead by singer/guitarist Mark Ward, this New Jersey band is tough to pigeonhole in one genre. ... I've been sitting here trying to define their genre, but I'm not getting very far. Suffice to say that the sound and rhythm of the music is unique enough to be considered Progressive, but the voice and riffs are catchy enough to be mainstream metal. Just go to their My Space site and check out their music. They are one of the few groups that I've placed on my Unknowns page, which highlights the best groups you've (probably) never heard of.
