Using PGP for Encrypting Files

After downloading a free  version of PGP software. I signed up for a private key.  My private key is protected by a pass phrase is at least 10 characters long, Alpha numeric characters.  I therefore generated key pair, I am now able to receive secure messages and sign documents.

I selected a .jpeg and encrypted it by using PGP Tools and sent it in an email to myself just to test.  The jpeg file appeared on my computer desktop with a .pgp extension after the .jpeg, with a lock icon around it, letting me know me know that it was encrypted.

I double click on the lock icon to in order to decrypt it, a  message pop up "Message was encrypted to any of the above public keys (s) ."  below the messages said the following:  "Not possible to decrypt this message because your key ring does not contain usable private key (s) corresponding to any of the above public key (s)."
