ONBAR PERFORMANCE TOOLS
The current problem with maximizing backup and restore throughput with
onbar is that it is very difficult to tell what to tune. Am I disk I/O
bound? Am I tape I/O bound? Where is my throughput bottleneck? What
should my BAR_MAX_BACKUP parameter be set to? How do I know I have
everything configured properly?
These Onbar Performance Tools have been developed to assist in
answering those kind of questions.

Tuning Utilities
NULL XBSA Library
This library will
intercept all data being sent to the storage manager and do nothing
with it. It is like doing a backup to /dev/null. This will allow
you to measure how fast Informix/Onbar can get the data to the Storage
Manager with out any storage manager overhead.
Disk Reader
This utility will measure
how fast the OS can actually get data from the disks/chunks.
Disk Writer
This utility will measure
how fast the OS can actually write to the disks/chunks
