The rare picture on a special Beatle day

Maureen, Ringo and Zak - the happy family

ZAK, STARR GAZING

As his happy parents hold hands, Zak, now nearly two, looks on. Calmly . . . philosophically.
For today is a very special day for the Beatle family Starr. It's Mum's 21st birthday.
So it calls for a special and unusual picture of the family . . . the first published since young Zak was a brand new baby.
Beatle dad Ringo will give ex-hairdresser Maureen a saphire bracelet. And in a couple of weeks' time she will present him with another bouncing babe.
Says Maureen: "I'd love a girl now . . ."
And Ringo: "Boy or girl - it's alright by me."
Zak maintained his philosophical pose. He said nothing.
And as the Starrs posed on the lawn of their mansion in Weighbridge, Surrey Ringo, 27, talked of fatherhod:
"Today I'd say that I couldn't exist without a family life. It's great being a father and I love seeing Zak grow up.
Marriage and fatherhood have greatly enriched my life.
"Before, a lot of my life and a lot of people I met were fake. Here"-and he glanced around at the house, the grunds, and Zak skipping across the grass-"there is nothing fake."
