legendary land of Tras (pronounced traz).
Refered by name as Ro'Tras in ancient hieroglyphics,
this shade or spirit can and does take the shape of any living creature.
In human form it is often referred to as Mongolian in features
having pointed ears and eyes of green fire and is documented
to not being able to change eye color when in human or animal form.
Ro has been involved in both the planets of Urth and Gor,
but much of the known facts regarding his appearances have come from the planet Urth.
It is said by some that Ro took the place of the Pharaoh called Ra,
in the lands of Egypt on the planet Urth and ruled as a living God.
Centuries later he was believed to be the ancient God of the Aztecs
called Tonatiunco, the Sun God, to whom was sacrificed thousands of men
by having their living hearts torn from their bodies.
The Shade is also given credit for being Gengis Kahn,
warrior leader of the Golden Hoard and
Emperor of the known world of that time period.
Ro of Tras or Ro'Tras takes form when evoked by an
ancient spell cast over an open flame during the middle
hour of the night of a full moon or moons,
and that Master or Mistress may keep him in service for as long as desired.
Ro is extremely cunning and can trick an unwary Master into
releasing him by skillful word manipulation in repeating commands
given to him and thereby causing the Master to become confused as
to what command he has actually given the Shade. Although Ro can appear
and disappear at his choosing he still is under control until time of release.
When in solid form he can reek havoc of huge dimensions for he can not be killed.
He can materialize in a cloud of emerald smoke or fade away like a whisp of fog
in the morning sun. He may cause himself to be seen as a vapor with a
slightly greenish tinge, yet instantly change shape into a vicious killer
with slashing claws and flesh ripping teeth.
