RANGNYA (Prasidhagad)

This fort is remotely situated but has an excellent and breath taking views from the top. One can see the Konkan and the Arabian sea from here. It can be accessed only from the northern side. This fort was won by Shivaji in 1657. There is a temple, a few old wells and plenty of drinking water.

Getting here:-

	From BOMBAY proceed to KOLHAPUR by Bus.
	Take a bus to GARGOTI (55 Kms), to PATGAON (35 Kms) .
	Walk to TAMBEWADI (6 Kms) along the shores of the lake and the VED GANGA river, going south west all along. take a circular route to CHIKEWADI (6 Kms) and reach a small strip to enter the fort gates after a short climb.
	Two descends are available via village NERUL here one leading to SAVANTVADI (east) and the other to KUNDAL. (west)
