MAHIPATGAD

This fort is one of the three forts that run parallel to the main range of the Deccan plateau. There is thick forest, a water tank and a temple at the top. A direct ridge connects this fort with SUMARGAD.

Getting here:-

Reach MAHABALESHWAR by bus directly.
Catch a direct bus to PRATAPGAD.
From PRATAPGAD proceed southwest and climb over the main ridge of the ghats down to KOTWAL village (16 Kms). Proceed south to climb to a col between MAHIPATGAD and the spur of the Deccan plateau.
Turn west and enter the fort and then proceed to the south to reach the water tank and the temple.
