SPITERI STRIKES FOR STALLIONS 03/11/02
Latest signing Joe Spiteri has made a dream debut for his new club, scoring twice in Marconi's 4-1 thrashing of the Brisbane Strikers.

The win comes as a great relief for fans and players of the Fairfield club, finally breaking the side's haunting losing streak. The thumping of the Brisbane side gives the Stallions their first win of the season, and a comprehensive one at that.

Spiteri opened his goal-scoring account for the Stallions in the 11th minute, giving Marconi a slight lead before the half. However Marconi weren't finished there, with Tony Perinich adding Marconi's lead in the second half.

Former Stallion Kris Trajanovski gave the home fan's some hope in the 57th minute, scoring a penalty to reduce the deficit. Tony Sekulic then cut out all dreams of a Brisbane come-back, making it three for the Stallions eight minutes later.

Spiteri then finished off his dream match in the final four minutes of the match, scoring his second goal of the game. We here at MSO would all like to congratulate Joe Spiteri on an amazing debut, and wish him all the best in his future at Marconi Stallions Football Club.
