A Fairytale

Once upon a time there dwelled in a land called Springfield two houses. The house of Santos and the house of Bauer.
In the house of Santos the wicked Queen Carmen ruled. She kept the prince Daniel for herself alone. She wanted no other to claim him.
In the house of Bauer resided many healers. King Edward was in a far off land and could not come home to tend his children. The Queen had long since died. The Princess Michelle too wanted to be a healer. She thought of nothing else. Her brother the Prince Rick was known far and wide. He performed many duties as a healer. His specialties knew no bounds.
In the house of Santos there was a tragedy . The young Prince Michael was killed. The Queen Carmen was much distressed. "Tis that Bauer child, she said.. she must pay for the murder of my son"
Queen Carmen said to her Prince Daniel. "You must avenge your brothers death. "
Prince Daniel was much distressed. For he knew how and why his brother had been killed.
He decided it was better to marry the beautiful Michelle. To kill her would be a sin , he decided. She was fair of face and lovely to behold.
The Prince Daniel found the Princess Michelle and took her away. She protested that she loved the farm boy Jesse. He was poor , but Princess Michelle did not care for she knew he had potential as a great artist. Prince Daniel explained to Princess Michelle that she would only stay alive as his bride. She must forget the farm boy Jesse. " Oh no, she cried, I shall never forget him, for he has within him my mother's heart"
Prince Daniel convinced Princess Michelle that they must marry to save her life.
Queen Carmen was much dismayed to find that Prince Daniel had married into the house of Bauer. She thought she could trick this evil Princess by requesting a royal wedding. To be performed by the Church.
Princess Michelle was too clever for her. She accepted the wedding and the huge party that followed. All of the guests were subjects of the house of Santos'. However, Prince Rick and his wife did attend the wedding and did proclaim it real.
Princess Michelle vowed to destroy the house of Santos. She did conspire with a lowly innkeeper, Drew by name, to bring the Santos family to justice.
When the Prince Daniel found out the betrayal of his wife, he did lay down with the lowly innkeeper. He was much consumed with drink and therefore did not know what he was doing. "She is not my wife" he proclaimed to Drew. But she was in much misery, for she confessed of her love for the farm boy Jesse. "If he finds out that you did lay with me," Drew did cry, "he will never touch me."
Prince Danny left the Inn sad and sorrowful . He sought out his bride at the house of Bauer. Princess Michelle had fallen into a deep sleep and dreamt that night of her husband. She was glad to look upon his face that night, and kissed him passionately. Alas , he told her she must die and they would never bed.
One day an accident did befall Prince Daniel . He was much wounded about the head. Princess Michelle was sorely sad and wanted only for him to return to her.
She took him to her tower to help him heal she said. I do love you and you love me. So we must be together forever.
