Resist - A Continuation
Parts 44-45
Danny walks into the lounge. It’s not all white and sterile like he had imagined it would be. There are warm mauve tones mixed in with beautiful oak furniture. The view is spectacular. A tree lined horizon. Must be fantastic in autumn.
People are talking to their family members. Funny. He thought a nut house would be…nutty. Not here. Everybody is so calm. Probably all the drugs they put these people on.
He finds Pilar sitting by a window. Her eyes are closed. She’s so beautiful, yet so tortured. Nino. That bastard. He’s raising hell even from his grave for my wife and my sister.
Danny walks over to her, stopping just short of where she’s sitting. “Pilar.”
“Danny.”
“You wanted to see me?”
“Yes. Please sit down.”
He sits in the chair next to his sister. Her face is unreadable.
“So how have you been?” That was a stupid question, but what else can I say to my sister, who’s locked up in a psychiatric hospital against her own will for basically conspiring to murder my wife.
She let’s out a little laugh before offering sarcastically, “How am I? Well, let’s just say I’m as happy as I’ve been in years. Thanks to Mama, I am getting the treatment I need. They tell me if my progress continues as it has, I’ll be out of here soon. How are you?”
Danny’s not sure how to react to Pilar. Is she mad? Hurt? Confused? Probably all the above.
Again, she asks, “How are you? How’s the family? How are the divorce proceedings going?”
“Pilar, Michelle and I are not getting divorced. I love her.”
“You know what? Nino said the same thing to me some five years ago. He is dead, Danny. Do you want to die, too?”
“Honey, why would I be worrying about dying? What does that have to do with Michelle?”
“You wanted her when she was married to Nino. It wasn’t love, but a game. Now, that she is married to you, Colin wants her. He doesn’t love her, either. But he’s concerned. Don’t you see? If you stay married to Michelle, you will have to die so that Colin can have her. Just like Nino had to die so that you could have her.”
“I think there are some things you need to come to terms with. First, Michelle and I are in love. She has never pursued my love. But all these years later, we love each other and want to be together. Second, whatever happened before Nino’s death was a game…to me. Michelle never acted on any feelings she may have had for me. She was completely devoted to Nino. Third, which leads me to the heart of the matter, you’ve got realize exactly what kind of person Nino was.”
Pilar is listening intently and staring Danny directly in the eyes. He feels like nothing he says will convince her.
“Nino would have hurt you Pilar. I mean really hurt you, physically and emotionally. Didn’t it bother you that he married Michelle and not you? Yet you continued your affair with him, behind his unsuspecting, truly devoted wife’s back. And you know how Nino rewarded Michelle for that devotion? He beat her. He raped her. He brutalized his new bride because she found out, with my help, about you and Nino. Did he tell you that?”
The tears are starting to stream down Pilar face. Is he getting to her?
“Yes, I pursued Michelle, but she never wavered from her vows to Nino. When she saw you and Nino together, her gut reaction was to get even by using me. But I wouldn’t let her and I don’t believe she really wanted to. You have got to realize that Nino was going to die eventually. He had to. If he had done anything to you, I would have killed him. As fate would have it, though, he chose Michelle to be his first victim. You would have been next. I know he promised to marry you after he took care of Michelle. And I also knew I had to protect both of you from Nino. Do you understand?”
“Nino loved me.”
“Pilar, if he loved you, then why is Michelle his widow? He wouldn’t marry you before Michelle. And I certainly don’t think he would have married you after he killed Michelle. I am glad I overheard your conversation that night. You would have been next Pilar. Trust me. You would have been next.”
She says nothing.
"And Pilar, I'm not worried about Colin. I'm going to take care of my family, including you. Colin Beckett's services are no longer needed or wanted by the Santos'. I want you to concentrate on getting Nino Rivera out of your system. We want you happy, Pilar."
"What did you do to Colin?"
"Please just concentrate on getting better."

“Hey sweetie. I knew I would find you in here.”
“Hi.” I give my husband a sweet kiss and he hugs me. “Danny are you okay?”
He’s not letting me go. “Yeah. I’m fine. I just love you so much.”
“Well, that’s good to hear. You really have been good for my spirit this past week.”
“I wish I had that effect on everybody,” he says finally letting me go. He sits on the stool next to me at the breakfast bar.
“Does this have to do with your errand today?” I ask as I begin making my sandwich.
“Yes. I went to see Pilar.”
“I see.”
“Michelle, you are safe. Everybody is safe. Including Pilar.”
“What does that mean? Danny, she wants me dead. And I know you know what Colin is up to.”
“Look baby. I can’t tell you what you want to know. There are things going on that are sensitive. You cannot know anything. But I assure you that Mama is working hard to help me keep us all safe.”
“Danny, can’t you at least tell me where she is? Or what happened to Colin? I would just feel so much better.”
“I’m sorry. You have to trust me. Everything will work out. Now, I believe we have a date this evening.”
“Yes and I decided that I would like to go out after all.”
“But I liked your earlier idea. Come on. Let’s stay in. I promise I will make it worth your while,” he says seductively.
“Danny Santos, you have got to be the most spoiled grown man I know. Fine. We’ll stay in. Do you want a sandwich?”
“Nah. Where’s Olga?”
“Around here somewhere. I told her she could leave early tonight. Is that okay?”
"Sure. I’m going to go get a shower. Why don’t you have Olga prepare whatever you want and I’ll send Jimmy to get the movie rentals.”
“Wait. Can’t we just order something off of Pay Per View? It’s suppose to storm really bad and I don’t want him caught in it.”
Danny gets off his stool and gives me a peck on my cheek. “You just said you wanted us to go out. Apparently you don’t mind us getting soaked, so why can’t the servants?”
“They work hard Danny. I just think they need a break now and then. You know, boost morale. Besides, don’t you ever think of them as family? I just think it would be a nice gesture.”
“The world has a wonderful presence and her name is Michelle Bauer Santos. Let’s just send everybody home early and prepare our own dinner.”
With a huge smile, I say, “thank you, Danny. You’re making me fall in love with you more each day.”
I clean up my mess and tell all the servants they can go home early. The bodyguards would have to stay, but I ask them to stay downstairs. Jimmy insists he stay outside our bedroom. I told him that wouldn't be necessary. He finally agrees.
Olga starts dinner for us anyway. Jimmy is going to check on it and let us know when it's done. I knew if we treated them like family, that the servants and bodyguards would do more than just protect and serve us. We are basically one big family.
I explain to Jimmy how I want to have one normal night with my husband before it goes down. He asked me what is it. I tell him that I know Carmen and Danny are planning something pretty big that will affect all the families. He just says to be careful and keep what I know to myself for my own safety. I understand completely.
I check on Andrew. He is coloring with Kathleen. Something compels me to give her a hug and tell her I love her. She tells me she feels the same and that she will give her life for me and Andrew.
I ask her how are things with Ray. She says he's great and he'll be over later. He loves spending time with Andrew. I feel blessed to have Ray and Kathleen in my life. I make a mental note to ask them to be Andrew's God-Parents. I want Rick and Abby to be the new baby's God-Parents.
The new baby. I'm rubbing my tummy as I enter our bedroom. Danny is sitting at the age of the bed flipping through the channels on the tv. He must have just gotten out of the shower. His hair is damp and all he has on is a white towel wrapped around his waist.
I close the door and lock it. The look on my face and the feelings running through me right now are pure passion. No words are spoken. Danny gets up and meets me at the door. He cradles my face with his hands and gives me a delicious, deep kiss. I remove the towel from him and send a trail of kisses down his beautiful bare chest to his tight stomach to his beautiful sex.
He's hard and ready. I take him in my mouth and begin to massage him with my tongue, my lips, my hands. His hands are in my golden, curly mane. "Michelle..." Oh he turns me on when he moans my name. Soon, he's tensing up and I know he's about to explode and I'm so please when he does.
My husband picks me up and takes me to our bed. He gently lays me down and undresses me. My nipples beg for his touch and he takes them in his mouth, one, then the other; back and forth. The sensation is wonderful.
He takes the same path I took earlier and begins to devour my sweetness. His tongue and mouth send me out of my mind. Then I feel one finger, two fingers; his tongue, his mouth. Damn, this man knows how to drive me to the brink and before I know it, my orgasm takes over my senses and I cry out.
We're kissing and our hands roam over each other's body. Danny pulls back and says, "I want you to take control."
"Where is Danny Santos? He would say he's always in the driver's seat," I respond playfully.
"He's right here baby. Waiting for you to have your way with him." That grin plasters his face as I roll on top of him, straddling his hips.
"Well now all I want is to feel you inside of me. We can play control next time."
He laughs and I seize his mouth, our tongues dancing as I lift my hips so Danny can guide his sex into its home.
"Danny," I moan as I rise up and down on him. He's thrusting up so hard and it's feels so good. After a few minutes of this, I find myself underneath Danny as he drives into me faster, harder and all I hear is, "Michelle...Oh...baby..."
I start my own chant and we are both coming and finally we crash head on into ecstasy.
Out of breath, I whisper, "Danny, I want it to always be like this."
"It will. I promise."
