"Open it huh?" Danny said grinning. He eagerly ripped open the tiny yellow envelope and withdrew the card. Curious, he opened the card which was blank on the front. Inside, in Michelle's bold cursive hand he read;
"Roses are red
and never a bore
two became one
and now will be four."
He read it again and again. Michelle sat back in their bed, watching him, lights dancing in her eyes. Finally, he looked over at her, disbelief written all over his face.
"Does this," he said, gesturing wildly with the card in his hand, "mean what I think it means?"
Michelle, smiling ever broader laughed and nodded.
"We're...we're pregnant?"
"Yes!" Michelle exclaimed.
"With...with twins?"
"YES!" Michelle cried.
Danny picked her up and sat her on his lap. He lovingly bent her back and kissed her stomach. Laughing Michelle grabbed his neck.
"So, when are we due?"
"July," Michelle said.
"Hmmm....that gives me plenty of time..."
"Plenty of time to do what?" Michelle asked.
"To ravish you, my dear," Danny said, pressing hot, wet kisses to her neck.
"Oh baby, please, do as you wish," Michelle said breathlessly.
Danny looked into her eyes. "Don't worry baby," he said as he laid her down on the bed, "I will."
And he did.
