Love Leads The Way
Part One
By Pepper
Danny is having a lovely dream where he and Michelle are back on their honeymoon. He dreams of every kiss, every touch, every wickedly delicious moment. He groans and rolls over to wrap his arms around Michelle, wanting to relive some of those moments. He comes up empty handed...she's not there.
Danny awakes. It's still dark. He looks over at his clock; 6:17 am it flashes back at him. He groans, it's way to early, he thinks.
"Michelle?" he calls softly.
Nothing. No reply. He sits up, looking around the room. It's empty. He looks over towards the bathroom and spies a crack of light shining out from under the door. He gets up, puts on his bathrobe and heads toward the bathroom.
"Michelle? Are you there?" He calls again. Still no answer.
He slowly opens the door and looks inside. She's not there, but she was. All her things have been left out on the counter, like her hair spray, hair straightener, make-up.
She is always so messy, he smirks. Also, setting on the countertop beside all his stuff, which is neatly set up by the way, is a beautiful white rose and a tiny card. He grins as he smells the flower, then opens the card.
On the cover is a little bear, seeming to be hugging himself, looking very sad. Puzzled, he opens the card and there in cursive writing are the words "Forgive me? Love, Michelle."
"What in the hell?" exclaims Danny. "Forgive me?"
Danny sits down on the side of the tub to ponder this small card's message. "What does she mean 'Forgive me?' She hasn't done anything...has she? What are you talking about Michelle?"
He turns the card over and over in his hands, trying to think of what Michelle could have done. Then he spies the writing on the back.
"Good morning sexy!
I hope I didn't scare you with this little card!! I just wanted to apologize for not being there when you woke up, I'm sure I missed a wonderful morning with you. But, today is a very special day for us, so I got up early to run a few errands. I left you some breakfast downstairs, don't worry, just pop tarts. I wouldn't ruin this day with my cooking! So, go on down and get it! I'll see you soon!
I love you, Michelle"
"What is today?" Danny asks out loud, thinking hard. "It's just Saturday. What's so special about today? What is going on? Where is she?"
