Painting Challenge
Still Life
By Heather
Danny comes home from a hard day at work. He's tired and a tad bit grumpy. He comes in expecting to see dinner either ready or cooking, but instead he encounters Michelle hard at work painting a still life of a bowl of fruity pebbles.
"Michelle?" asks Danny, sounding very tired and ill. "What are you doing?"
"What? Oh hey honey! I'm painting!"
"I didn't know you painted...when did this start?"
"Oh I'm taking an art class in school."
Danny looks over her shoulder at her work, then at her subject. He smirks.
"Fruity pebbles Michelle?"
"Well we didn't have any fruit...so I used fruity pebbles as a substitute!"
"Inspired," mutters Danny with a small grin, sitting down at the table, massaging his temples.
Michelle walks over to him, still holding her brush, and rubs him on the back.
"What's the matter honey? Did you have a hard day at work?" she says as she leans over a presses a kiss to the top of his head.
He looks up at her with a look of tired dejection. "Yeah, this conversion of the business is such a headache."
"Well," says Michelle with a look of merry mischief on her face. "I think..." she pauses moving her paintbrush ever closer to his face, "I think I know how to cheer (touches his nose once) you (and again) up!" She takes the brush and runs it down his right check.
"Oh you little..." Danny says as he rises up and grabs her by the waist. They fall to the floor in a fit of laughter.
"What am I going to do with you?" Danny says getting up off the floor.
Michelle lays there giggling uncontrollably. "I don't know Danny!" She gasps as she sees where he is heading. He picks up a huge brush that has yellow paint all over it.
"Oh no you don't! Don't you come near me with that!!"
"What? And let you get away with that?" he says with a grin, headache apparently quite forgotten. He starts chasing her around the kitchen.
"Danny! Danny! No, oh don't!"
He tackles her, taking his brush and running it up and down her neck and cheek.
"Oh God Danny!" Michelle gasps out, surprised at how cold the paint is.
Danny sits down laughing. Michelle regards him for a second, then she gives him a wicked grin. She jumps up, running her for her easel before he realizes what she's doing. She picks up another brush, one with black paint on it and runs over to him...aiming for his head.
"Whoa girl! Hey!" She manages to get him, right over the eye. She busts out laughing at the sight of Danny with black paint over his eyes and blue on his nose and cheeks.
"Oh you are going to pay now!" he yells grabbing her by the shirt. She tries to struggle away, but only succeeds in helping him get it off her.
She gasps in shock. "Danny! Give me my shirt back!"
"Uh uh," he says grinning naughtily. "I'm enjoying this to much!" He looks her up and down and she can't help but blush at the way he's staring at her.
"Danny! Give me my shirt! Someone could walk in!" She reaches for her shirt, but he lifts it over his head where she can't reach it.
"Danny! What if someone sees me!"
"I can remedy that," he says as he suddenly sweeps her up and over his shoulder.
"Danny! Put me down!"
"No way sweetie, not till I have you up stairs!" As he walks by the easel he picks up a brush with red on it. He takes it and starts painting her bare foot.
"Oh my God Danny!" she gasps. "That tickles!" She pointlessly kicks her feet.
"Oh really? Imagine that!" He laughs as he reaches up with the brush and begins painting her sides.
"Oh God Danny, if you don't stop it now..."
"You'll what?" Danny asks as he reaches their room.
"I'll make you pay!" she says as he throws her down on their bed.
"Good, I like to pay," he growls at her and he lays on the bed next too her. "I think I'll pay now," he purrs as he leans over to kiss her. She can only sigh as he slowly beings to make love to her.
