Guess Who Challenge
Fic 8
Michelle awoke slowly to the smell of salt in the air and the feel of a soft sea breeze caressing her body. She realized that she must have fallen asleep on the isolated private beach she and Danny had claimed as their own. Fondly she paused to remember the first night they had staked that claim, under the stars.
Yawning, Michelle stretched her muscles so that the tips of her fingers and toes brushed the powdery sand that lay beyond the edges of the towel she reclined on. Totally content with the world, Michelle felt a large, goofy grin spread across her face.
"Well, good afternoon sexy," came her husband's voice.
"Good afternoon to you to," Michelle bantered back, still not bothering to open her eyes. She was just too content at the moment.
"You've been sleeping quite a while," Danny chided. "If I hadn't kept smearing you with lotion, would have blended right in with those shades of pink you are so fond of wearing."
Michelle giggled. She had never giggled in her life, until this honeymoon. She couldn't explain it. Just being near Danny made her giddy - and giggly.
"I guess I will just have to find someway to thank you for performing that horrible task of rubbing lotion all over my unconscious body."
She allowed herself one more cat-like stretch before rolling over to face her husband.
Michelle didn't get very far; stopping in mid roll as her nose barely escaped a near collision with a huge sandcastle.
"Danny, what is all this," Michelle asked incredulously. "Aren't you a little old to be playing in the sand?"
Danny's beautiful eyes peeked out at her from behind the architecture of the large sand structure.
"Well Michelle…" Danny paused to stand up and wave both his hands in a large sweeping gesture"…this is our dream home."
Danny paused to exchange the sweet, secret smile that he and Michelle shared, and then continued.
"And as for being to build sandcastles…well I will never be to old for anything that let's me fantasize about my future with you."
Michelle felt her secret smile transform itself into a huge, goofy grin as she surveyed Danny's masterpiece.
"Danny, don't you think this is a little big for our first home," Michelle teased.
"Oh no Michelle," came Danny's reply. "There is a place for everything, and everything has its place."
"Well Mr. Santos, why don't you show me what everything is?"
Danny pulled Michelle closer to the base of the castle. He pointed to a large, round room at the center of the structure.
"Well that is the master suite. If you could see inside you would see a luxury bathroom with a tub for two, large walk-in closets, a balcony, a sitting room, and one very large four-poster bed."
Michelle laughed. "Well, I think I could live without any of that as long as we had that bed," she teased.
Now Danny drew her attention to a smaller square building placed at the outskirts. "That is a lab just for you. You can do whatever you want with it, but you have to promise not to stay away from me for very long."
"Deal," promised Michelle, still laughing. She pointed to the smallest room of all, placed at the very edge of the house. "What's that?"
Danny looked at what she was pointing at and grinned.
"Well dear, that is the kitchen. It's small because I figured you wouldn't be in it much. It's located where it is because if you do decided to go there - and say, have an accident - it will be much harder for you to send us all to a fiery death."
Michelle silently shook her head in reply. What could she say, he was right. Then she noticed what looked like another small suite of rooms.
"Danny, don't tell me that is another master suite for when we get bored of the other one.
Danny's face turned red, and it wasn't from the sun. "Well no, uh…it's the guest suite for family, friends….in-laws."
"In-laws?" Michelle asked quietly. "In-laws."
Without any warning Michelle seemed to loose her balance, and she reached forward with her hand to catch her balance, effectively destroying the guest suite.
"Opps," she apologized quietly. "Did my little ol' hand make that big ol' mess?"
Danny's body was shaking in laughter.
It's just that," Michelle continued," I planned on honeymooning for at least the next twenty years, so we won't have to worry about guests."
She surveyed the dozens of rooms that remained. "Besides Mr. Frank Lloyd Wright, what are these that are left?"
"Bedrooms," came Danny's reply. "All bedrooms."
"All bedrooms," echoed Michelle. "What are they all for."
"Our kids," replied Danny, their secret smile returning to his lips.
"Our kids huh?" Michelle returned his smile. "That's a lot of kids."
They mutually eyed her towel.
"We had better get started," whispered Michelle.
Soon husband and wife were entwined is a passionate embrace, the castle at their side long forgotten.
