Background: Michelle and Danny didn't separate that night in Pilar's room. They admitted how they felt and they stayed together.
Danny did turn the business legit but ran into some major opposition from the other families and his mother. Michelle went on to college and is well on her way to becoming a doctor.
They have just celebrated their one year anniversary.

"Do you feel like a cookie?" Michelle asked.
"Why do I look like one" he answered back.
Michelle groaned at the awful joke. Danny's sense of humor was really off the mark sometimes. Warped was the word that best described it. She grabbed one of the cookies and placed it in her mouth. She leaned down to let him share with her. His mouth claimed hers as it tried to get the treat. Either way, it couldnt lose.
They had just finished celebrating their first wedding anniversary the way that they celebrated every night of being together. They had made love slow and sweet. Both of them had been left breathless and sweaty and never wanted to move again.
This first year had been so wonderful. Carmen had fought them at first but finally relented. Rick had had the same misgivings but seeing as how she had threatened never to let him see his future neices and nephews if he didnt change his attitude about Danny, he had also given them his blessing.
Danny and Rick had gone golfing one day and had reached some sort of an understanding. Danny had sworn he would never go and play that ridiculous game again. Everyone dressed funny and if he wanted spikes on shoes, he would have stayed in the crime business.
The business had floureshed under his tuteladge and even Mama Carmen couldnt complain about the extra dough ray me that was put into the account at the end of each month.
They had chosen a secluded beach on the coast of Georgia in which to celebrate. So far they had not seen anyone on the beach but themselves. Danny had tried to take advantage of that fact and do some very UnMichellelike things on the beach but she had drawn the line at occasional skinny dipping and Danny had given up on that once a fish had done some creative swimming around certain parts of his anatomy.
Michelle had never been so happy. Her first year of school had gone so well and they had adjusted to life together with little problems. Danny had built them a house a few miles from Casa Santos. He was always near enough to Carmen to be able to conduct business but he was not about to share her with anyone he had said.
She watched Danny as he was lying there with a goofy expression on his face. She placed her hand on his chest and rubbed. He always loved that. Her hand traveled lower until it found what it was looking for.
"I'm being seduced" he said.
"I think you actually have to resist in order to cry seduction Mr. Santos" she had said.
"I guess your right" he said as he rolled her over onto her back. Their lovemaking was as hot and desperate as their earlier lovemaking had been sweet and tender. Neither one of them wanted it to end each sensing the urgency of their union.
Danny was about to drift off to sleep when he felt the bed move. "Michelle?" he called,
"I'm here Danny. I left my bathing suit top out on the beach and I dont want it to get washed away" she said. "I'll be right back"
"Okay" he said sleepily. Danny never saw Michelle again.
