Setting: Michelle, Danny, Sarah and Alex are in a black jeep.
"Where are we going?"Michelle asked for the I-don't -remember-how-many time.
No one answered. Danny had screamed and yelled at the lighthouse but when Michelle had looked in his eyes she had seen pain and worries. He had taken her in his arms and had asked her to trust him. Alex came and picked them up. Alex barely could stand the sight of Sarah's body. Michelle understood none of what had happen, what was happening or even what was going to happen for that matter.
Alex had managed his way to the girl he so dearly and emotionally called sister. Somehow Danny and Alex had found the courage to carry Sarah to the car, both trying to hold back all the tears Michelle so clearly saw in their eyes. Even though Michelle had been scared of that poor girl, and still was in a strange way, she couldn't help but wonder.......Why would anyone want to hurt her? A young innocent girl? All she knew was her name, but what she had seen on Danny and Alex's faces had told her so much more. Sarah was not to be feared. And as much as Michelle had had trouble not to before, the more she remembered her few encounters with her, the more she realized they were right. Sarah had asked her not to take Danny anywhere near Carmen outside Danny's room. She had been watching them......but why? WHO was she? That was still a mystery to Michelle. Danny wasn't speaking. Was he breathing? She wasn't even sure. Alex had a firm grip on the wheel and looked straight ahead as Michelle held the young girl in her arms. No signs of life beside the slow......VERY slow heart beat Michelle could feel through her fingers as she held her hand. Beside both girls were a gun. Another one of those stupid things, Michelle thought every time her gaze fell upon it. That was the gun they had found beside Sarah's body at the lighthouse. Blood on it. Sarah's blood probably. Was it an evidence? who did it belong to? Michelle had a thousand of questions that were killing her inside and giving her a headache.
Blood was all over the back seat. Danny had wrapped her into a clean blanket. Michelle remembered the blanket. It was a gift. The gift she had given Zachary at Christmas a couple of years ago. It was a white blanket with black lighthouses printed on it. She and Jesse had decided to leave it there, at the lighthouse, where Zachary had perished. Michelle remembered that blanket very well. She had always loved that blanket for many different reasons. Not it was soaked in blood and was the only heat source for Sarah's body, except from Michelle who kept trying to come closer to keep her warm. She closed her eyes and prayed to God this wasn't a sign. Sarah could not die. No matter what was going on, Michelle knew that Sarah wasn't meant to die. She prayed and asked her mother, and Zachary and God to give her the strength she needed. Michelle opened her eyes at the sound of Danny's voice. His voice was shaky and sad.
"Is she still breathing?" He asked turning in his seat.
"Yes she is......Danny where are we going?" Michelle asked in a very calm voice.
Danny looked away and took a deep breath before answering.
"Somewhere safe."
"Safe from what Danny?" Michelle demanded in desperation.
"Safe from whom would be the best question......." Alex said through his teeth still looking straight ahead.
"Danny.......?" Michelle asked again trying desperately to get some answers out of these two.
"Danny maybe it's time to tell her." Alex whispered taking his eyes off the road for the first time since they had left the lighthouse.
"Telling me what?" Michelle asked more frantic.
Danny waited for a while looking outside as they were passing houses and parks......places Michelle didn't even recognize anymore. He turned around in his seat again and faced Michelle who was still holding Sarah's body close to hers to try and keep her warm. Sarah was bleeding even more and Michelle was scared. Of what she wasn't even sure, but she was and THAT she knew too well. She squeezed Sarah's arm with her right hand, looking straight to Danny. Danny had tears in his eyes and Michelle knew that wasn't good.
"I know Michelle.......I know everything." Danny said his voice shaking as he kept his eyes fixed on Sarah.
Michelle tried to meet his gaze but he wouldn't let go of the girl's half dead body. She felt a tiny bit of jealousy as she saw the way Danny was looking at her. She then wanted to kill herself for having had that kind of thought about the young girl injured beside her.
"What do you mean......." Michelle continued impatient to get what he was trying to tell her.
"I mean I remember Michelle. You know you killed Mick, my mother knows you killed Mick........And "I" know you killed Mick. I remember how we met and the way you looked in that beautiful wedding gown......."He started saying biting his lower lips to hold back the flowing tears. "I remember everything." He added now looking straight at Michelle, who had a surprised look on her face.
"I never forgot it Michelle.......I could never forget that." He whispered.

Setting: Santos mansion. Dietz and two other men are facing Carmen.
Dietz has just arrived in Carmen's office with the face of a ghost. He reluctantly entered and Carmen grabbed his arm with a firm grip.
"Is it done?" She asked blankly as Dietz tried to escape her deadly look.
"we had a bit of a problem boss."He spluttered.
"What do you mean a problem?!!!" Carmen asked backing away, emphasizing each and every word.
"Michelle wasn't there......"
"Where was she?" Carmen shouted at his men.
"She and Danny seem to have disappeared boss." Said a man whose black suit let some sparkle of blood reflect in the light.
"Whose blood is this? What have you done!!!???" she demanded hitting Dietz on the chest.
"Someone else was there....."
"Who?" Carmen asked now calmer yet more furious by the look Dietz could see in her eyes.
"We don't know. She had a gun." Dietz confessed looking down at the floor of hell at his feet.
"What do you mean you DON'T KNOW!!?? You shot her!!!"Carmen said as she slapped Dietz right on his left cheek.

Setting: In a lost hotel room in some poor not recommended neighborhood.
Michelle was lying on a bed, finally sleeping. She hadn't closed her eyes for 32 hours. I love watching her sleep, Danny kept whispering in his head. Each time she would move or breathe louder he would sing her name in his head. It sounded like a never-ending melody he could have listened to forever.
They had all decided to come here after a 4 hour ride all around Springfield. They didn't want to go too far, so they could plan something and keep an eye on Carmen at the same time. But they also had to find a place Carmen wouldn't think of searching. After major arguments and some loud oppositions they had finally all agreed on this place. It was a dump. Carmen would never look in a dump that is for sure.
"Well one thing is sure, your mother will never set foot in a place like this......she'll send her men but we at least won't see HER" Michelle had whispered entering the not so good looking hotel room
Sarah had been placed on the bed beside Michelle. Alex had been pacing around the room for hours while a friend of Danny, a doctor in the neighborhood, had tried to remove the bullet. Michelle being the only woman in the house, had agreed to clean and change Sarah's clothes. So far Danny had managed to dodge Michelle's questioning and Alex had barely spoken a word. The two of them sat in the room, watching Sarah, inspecting the gun, checking up on Sarah again and inspecting the gun once more......Their boring and frustrating routine had finally put Michelle to sleep. By the time she fell fully asleep, Alex had gone out to make some calls. Michelle had thought that the real reason why he couldn't stand staying here was because he was so helpless concerning Sarah.
Danny had been watching her for about 2 hours now. Wondering how on earth he could do this to her. How could he have lied again, telling her, making her believe that he didn't remember her? To save her life he kept reminding himself. But the guilt was still there. How was he supposed to tell the woman he loved that she was meant to be the one in Sarah's place right now. That somehow something had gone wrong in their secret plan, and Sarah had been shot in the abdomen.
Suddenly, Michelle stretched a bit smiling. A smile that faded once she hit the cruel reality of their situation. "she must have been dreaming" Danny thought with a cute grin. Michelle rose from the bed not even looking at Danny, walked by him and headed to the bathroom. When she got out, Danny had not even moved a bit. His stare still on the bed where Michelle was lying two seconds ago. As much as she wanted to hate him right now, she couldn't help but see the pain in his eyes. She sat on the chair beside him and waited for him to give her some sign of mere interest. He did. He turned around and faced her, without looking at her straight in the eye.
"Danny. I think it's time you tell me what we are doing here? I watched and said nothing as you drove around the whole town and I didn't say a word when you brought me to this place.....this....."Michelle started hesitating. "This dump. I stood there and watched while some stranger was doing surgery before my eyes on......on another stranger!!" She added anger filling her voice.
"She is not a stranger "Danny started to explain in a sad voice.
"Who is she Danny?!! And why didn't you bring her to a hospital?" Michelle asked trying desperately to be understanding.
Danny didn't answer, which didn't help Michelle's already angry mood.
"You lied to me. You lied to me again Danny."Michelle said getting up.
"Lied to you? I saved your life Michelle!!!"Danny blurted through his teeth. "That is all I have been trying to do! Save your life Michelle!"
"I don't need you to save me Danny!!"
"Well you did! You see that girl there!?"Danny said pointing at Sarah. "That could have been you!"Danny said now tears flowing from his eyes. "That was supposed to be you........"
Michelle looked at Danny, confused yet aware of the truth he was telling her.
"Don't try to change subject Danny!!"Michelle cried after a moment. "Let's start by the beginning huh? Do you know? Do you realize how I felt when you looked right into my eyes and asked me who I was? Do you know what it feels like to have the person you love looking at you like you are a complete stranger?!"Michelle threw at him, unaware of the tears she was letting out.
Danny came over to Michelle and cupped her face with his hands. Her eyes were like oceans in the middle of a storm. Fighting yet reaching out. Fierce yet so calm.
"Yes I do Michelle. You looked at me like that for months."He said sharing her pain.
"I should be hating you......"She cried out."I should be hating you so much .........but I just can't. I have tried but I just can't hate you anymore. I want to hold you and tell you how relieved I am that you are ok, when every single voice in my head tells me to run away from you. "
Michelle rests her forehead on his and he leans in to kiss her. A soft desperate kiss. Michelle kisses him back for a moment then breaks away. Wiping the tears off her face, she asks for some answers.
"You still haven't answered my questions Danny......."She says sitting on the bed, facing the young girl lying in front of her.
Danny sat beside her. Hid his face in his hands as if he was ashamed of what he had done to that girl.
"Who is she Danny?" Michelle asked softly.
"It doesn't matter Michelle....."Danny said holding his tears.
"It does to me!"Michelle shouted, her anger coming back.
Why wouldn't Danny tell her who Sarah was? What was this big secret they wouldn't tell her? Danny cared about this girl, she could see it. And Alex loved her more than his words could say. Both would have given their lives for her, Michelle was certain of it. But Danny couldn't bring himself to tell her the whole story. Was it a story she wanted to hear? She wasn't sure anymore.
The look in Danny's eyes as he looked up at her made her want to withdraw her questions.
After a couple of doubts crossed Michelle's mind she decided that she had to know. She couldn't go through with whatever it was they were doing there if she didn't at least know why she was doing it.
"Why did we come here Danny? Why isn't that girl in a hospital where people can save her life?"She asked.
"They wouldn't be able to save her there Michelle......"Danny started.
"What are you talking about? She is not dead Danny!!"Michelle shouted trying to convince Danny that Sarah would be better off surrounded by doctors.
"She is Michelle......In the eyes of the law......and of my mother she has been for years." Danny told Michelle now unable to hold the tears back. The storm that had been in the eyes of Michelle earlier was now in those of Danny, but ten times stronger and wilder.

Setting: Three weeks later. Same hotel room.
"She's on her way."Alex said coming through the door.
Michelle was sitting in a chair beside Sarah's bed. Sarah was also sitting, for the first time in weeks. She had barely spoke a word about the night in the lighthouse. Danny hadn't even dared to mention it. And Alex well.......he was Alex. For all I knew of him, he wasn't very showing his emotions, Michelle said to herself watching him get comfy in a chair. He had been by his sister's bed the whole time.
Danny and Michelle had taken another room because of the lack of bed and frankly......Michelle didn't mind. Although she still had some issues with Danny, she liked the privacy of their own room. Danny had been able to "fake" not feeling anything for her at the lighthouse so he did it again. He slept by her side......never touching. Never touching. Until that same morning. He reached out still half asleep and she simply did the same. She had rested on his chest until he went back to sleep and none of them really aware of what they were doing, just stayed like that for half an hour. Michelle had been surprised by her behavior when she had realized how tangled up they were. Still, she hadn't moved one bit from where she was. Danny's heart beat was reassuring yet dangerous. She wasn't sure she could trust herself any more nights with him so close to her.
Michelle snapped out of her reverie at Danny's voice.
"I still don't think we should get her involved."Danny said worried at the way their new plan was unfolding.
Michelle had to admit not knowing much of "the plan". After Danny had told her that Sarah was already supposed to have been killed 7 years ago along Alex, her brother, they had been interrupted by the hotel manager, and Michelle had not pushed the issue any further. Danny had assured her that everything would be fine as long as she remained out of sight. That meant out of Carmen's sight but also anyone else she knew. Michelle had originally refused.
"I can't just disappear Danny!!!"She had yelled."I can't just leave like that!!"
"It is better than being found with a bullet in your head Michelle!" Danny had told her.
Always the death threats of Carmen had a funny way of convincing her. Danny had tried his best to remain calm and Michelle her best not to upset him, but at the end of the day they were always arguing over her questions, his phone calls, what Sarah should eat, which side of the bed belonged to whom.......But at the moment they both lied in their bed and closed their eyes, all the worries and the animosity always disappeared like magic. Lost in each other's silence.
"It is the only way Danny." Sarah said to try an comfort him.
"She is our only contact with what Carmen is planning" Alex finished saving his sister the effort.
"I could have........"Sarah started but Danny cut her off immediately.
"You need to rest. You shouldn't be doing anything."He told her. "Michelle would you keep an eye on her, trying to keep her inactive would be like asking you to stop the earth from spinning but at least try and keep her in that bed.....?"Danny asked smiling for the first time in days.
"Yeah......sure."Michelle answered as Danny and Alex head to the door to meet their contact.
Once Danny and Alex were out, Sarah took the blankets off and immediately tried to get out of bed. Michelle stopped her just before her feet touched the floor.
"God you and Danny do make the perfect duo!!" Sarah said getting back under the sheets.
"What do you mean?" Michelle asked not really sure what Sarah meant by that.
"Nothing....."She answered a huge smile on her face. That same smile she had given Michelle in the hospital room when Michelle had asked if she worked for Carmen.
"You do know why Danny came back right?"Sarah asked curious of how much Danny had told her.
"Not really......and I don't know you for that matter."Michelle said walking over to the small table in the middle of the room.
"I see......."Sarah said suddenly turning serious.
Michelle turned around and saw Sarah's face. It wasn't sad or angry or happy......it was just a face. The face of a teenager hiding a secret. Why would Sarah pretend to be dead since the age of 10? HOW was more the question on Michelle's mind at the moment but she did not ask.

Setting: Carmen's house.
"Where is she?"Carmen asked over the phone. "I want you to follow her."
Carmen's tone grew angrier as she spoke the next few words.
"I know she is my daughter I want you to follow her!" "I will not have Michelle Bauer fool me again. I want you to find my son and his beloved wife right now! And whoever it is you injured while being so incompetent!" Carmen said as she hung up the phone.

Setting: In a park outside of Springfield.
"Danny!!"
"Pilar!" Danny said as Pilar jumped in his arms.
Danny didn't want to let Pilar go. Neither did she. Pilar was the one to break the embrace.
"Everyone has been so worried Danny! Where is Michelle?!"Pilar asked all at once.
"Michelle is fine." Danny said to reassure her.
Danny explained to Pilar that they needed her help to know what Carmen was up to. Danny knew that this was putting Pilar in the middle of what she had been kept away her whole life, but he had no choice. Pilar agreed to keep them informed. Pilar asked what had happened at the lighthouse and Danny simply said that he wasn't sure. Was it Carmen? Dietz? Why did they shoot Sarah? Danny had a lot of questions for Sarah, but first he had to make sure that Carmen didn't know where they were.
Suddenly Alex came out of hiding. At the sight of the man Pilar almost fainted. She gasped for air. How could he be there? no.......that wasn't real. Alex could not be alive.
"Alex!!" Pilar cried out in complete shock."How?......You are dead!" She exclaimed.
"Hey girl!!" he smiled as he took her in his arms.
Danny explained to Pilar that somehow Alex had not died that faithful day 7 years ago. Pilar was very young at the time but she remembered well how her mother had climbed into bed with her and told her that Alex and his whole family had perished in a serious accident. She had never said how they had died or why, but Pilar had never spent a day without thinking about them.
Danny sent Alex with Pilar so he could protect her while she was playing with Carmen. Now Danny was ready. He had to tell Michelle. He had to tell her the truth once and for all about Sarah and Alex, and the event that changed his life forever. Would she understand? Would she hate him? He had to take the risk.
Their lives depended on it.

Setting: Outside the room where Michelle and Sarah were waiting.
Danny stopped before opening the door. That was it. The moment of truth he had convinced himself. Although on the way back, he had decided to resolve the events of the lighthouse first. He had to know the whole story before he told Michelle anything. At the simple thought of telling Michelle the secret he had kept from everyone for 7 long and painful years, he felt his heart breaking.
Going back to that day Sarah and Alex's life had been taken away. Not in the way it was supposed to be but still, Danny thought. Never would Sarah have the life she deserved. Not anymore. And the guilt came back to haunt him every day and every night ever since.
Danny closed his eyes and took a deep and shaky breath before opening the door.
The entire emotions on his face had vanished. He was good at that, and he knew it. Hiding things, especially his emotions, had been his most displayed talent. Especially since he had met Michelle. She was drinking coffee at the table while Sarah was turning and turning in her bed. "Poor girl" Danny told himself with a grin. "She's never been able to stand still more then 5 minutes. That must be torture."He thought. Then he looked at Michelle's face and the image of torture had not disappeared. He kept seeing it in her eyes too. His heart broke into pieces as she looked up at him with tired eyes. How could he have done this?
Why does every single person who crosses his path ended up with that tortured look?
"What happened?!"Sarah asked as Danny came and sat beside her.
"I was just about to ask you the same."He answered.
"Danny......"She started looking straight into his eyes. "How did Pilar take it?"
"Fine. She took it well considering the circumstances."Danny said as Michelle joined them. "Now.....What happened to you?"
Sarah looked at Michelle and then back at Danny. Michelle tried to figure out her feelings or emotions through her eyes but in vain. She couldn't see anything, any clue. She was not like Danny, Michelle thought. Compared to Sarah Danny was rubbish at hiding his feelings, which is pretty amazing since Michelle always had trouble reading Danny's mind. With Sarah she didn't even dare trying.
"What do you wanna know?" She asked softly.
"Everything." Danny stated as she rearranged the blanket in front of her.
"Dietz came looking for Michelle at the lighthouse." She started as Michelle's eyes widened at her words.
Sarah's eyes fell upon Michelle and for once Michelle was certain she saw fear in Sarah's glance. There had been a wall between them. A wall Michelle had not been able to break until now.
"What were you doing at the lighthouse?"Danny asked angrily.
"I had been there all along Danny!!"Sarah defended herself.
"What?......."Danny yelled throwing his hands in the air. "I thought you had gone back with Alex......"
"I couldn't. There were some things you didn't know Danny. And I didn't get the chance to tell you.......Michelle was with you all the time and you had told me......"she said before taking a long pause. "You had told me not to worry your wife."She added as her eyes filled with tears.
"That's why you were always there......at the hospital" Michelle whispered half stating half asking.
"You saw her?!!"Danny asked Michelle, surprise filling his voice.
"I talked to her."Sarah added still looking straight at Danny.
She was the only one who dared to do that. Never did she take her eyes off of Danny as they were speaking. Never. whether her eyes were filled with tears, shame or anger, she always had the courage to look Danny straight in the eyes.
"You.....Sarah......"Danny sighed.
"I had no choice Danny. I couldn't talk to you and ........She just saw me. I wasn't going to lie." Sarah said dryly and surely. "I could see you were wondering what I was doing everywhere....."She now said turning to Michelle.
Michelle was amazed by what was going on. Danny and Sarah's conversation, or connection for that matter, didn't make much sense in Michelle's mind but she at least could put some pieces together now.
Sarah turned back to Danny.
"I wasn't going to say some stupid thing like 'Hey I'm the kinda girl who likes hanging in hospital's corridors!!'"She continued defending herself. "I told her to keep you away from Carmen."
"Sarah.....Do you realize!?? What if.......?"Danny started but was cut off by Sarah.
"What if?!!! She did it Danny! She took you away from Carmen, didn't she? " Sarah said trying to stay calm. "I just told her that Danny. That's it. And I walked away. And it's useless to say what if now Danny......You of all people should know that." She said her eyes teary and begging.
Danny looked away and his eyes fell upon Michelle. She was quiet and listening. She had a million questions flying in her mind but couldn't make herself interrupt them. For once someone was talking she wasn't going to stop them.
"She reassured me Danny....I thought...I thought she was working for Carmen."Michelle said to calm Danny down.
Sarah's genuine laugh rang in the room again. It was a soft laugh, and Michelle recognized it. It was the same she had let out when Michelle had asked her the same question. Except this time Michelle could hear the sadness and pain hidden behind it.
Danny took Sarah's hands in his and looked at her.
"What if Danny.......? The answers are too long and painful for you to even 'think' of asking that. What if Dietz had found Michelle? What if you had killed her at the beach that night?" She asked now tears rolling on her cheeks.
At these words Michelle face had surprise printed all over it. How could this young girl know about that night? Who had told her? Danny? Or was she just simply there......Like she had seemed to be everywhere recently.
"What if your mother had never ruined our lives? My life! None of us would be here. You know that. You wouldn't be a mobster. I wouldn't have been shot, and Michelle wouldn't have that look of fear in her eyes every minute of every day." She continued now crying as if she had never cried before. "We would all have a life Danny, if your mother hadn't ruined mine." She sigh sobbing and tightening Danny's hands.
Michelle looked tears falling from her own eyes. What had Carmen done to her. what was it that Sarah had lived that somehow impacted on hers and Danny's lives?
Danny's eyes were filled with tears at the words of that young girl he so much cared about.
"That is not the point Sarah......my point is you shouldn't have gone to the hospital and you shouldn't have talked to Michelle." Danny said trying to regain control of his emotions.
"No it is totally the point!"Sarah yelled in exasperation."Your MOTHER is totally the point. SHE is why we are here. SHE is why I am sitting in that bed and she certainly is why you are sitting here and Michelle all the way over there!! she it definitely 'the point' Danny!"She said desperately trying to make her 'point'.
Danny looked over at Michelle who escaped his glance by looking down. Danny knew exactly Sarah was right, but he didn't want to talk about him and Michelle. He would have time for that after. For now he wanted to know what had really happened at the lighthouse, because he knew too well that Dietz does not shoot anyone just like that.
"Danny ........your mother......"Michelle started trying not to intrude on their conversation. "Your mother is pure evil!"She said not able to keep her frustration inside any longer."And I agree with her.....that witch is totally the point!"
"And I hope that witch just chokes on her broom......"Sarah whispered through her teeth before realizing she had just spoken out loud. ".....huh...no offense."She told Danny smiling embarrassingly.
"None taken.....but..."He started but Sarah again interrupted him.
"Do you wanna know what happened at the lighthouse or not?"She asked in a sigh. "'cause if you do you are gonna have to let me finish......for once."
Michelle smiled at those words. Boy did she know that feeling! Danny never lets her finish whenever she starts telling him how she feels, what she wants.......We definitely have more in common than wanting to see Carmen rot in hell, Michelle thought.
"Go ahead." Danny said looking away.
"Dietz came looking for Michelle at the lighthouse" She said again, starting over. "I knew he was going to be there."
At these words Michelle saw how much Danny was dying to ask her why, but he didn't. He was going to let her finish. But Sarah saw it too. she saw in his eyes how much it was killing him so she answered without him even asking.
"Yes Danny!! I was at your mama dearest......"She began as Danny's face changed from thoughtful to angry. "Before you starts screaming all around the place may I remind you that I am fine!!!!"
"You got shot.......How is that fine?" Michelle asked worries filling her voice.
Danny simply nodded at Michelle's question, as if she had just read his mind.
"That was after! That had nothing to do with being at Carmen's house!!" She defended herself. "Besides, no one saw me there. But i heard Carmen placing the hit on Michelle. It was going to happen at the lighthouse so I rushed over there to tell you. Although you probably would not have believed me....." she said calming down. "Don't tell me you would have because I know you wouldn't have. You were afraid of me......So I left you a note."
"That was you.......?"Michelle asked following every word Sarah was saying.
"Yeah......."
Danny's pacing was so intense he could have made holes in the floor.
"So I went to the lighthouse and came face to face with Dietz. He asked me who I was and when I didn't answer he pushed me against the wall. I kicked him and he pulled out a gun and I pulled out mine..."
Sarah took a deep breath and continued: "He asked me where you were Michelle, and I asked why. Then I head to the door and he shot me. The last thing i remember is him picking me up and throwing me on bed. Then the next thing I knew you were there Michelle......you were trying to stop me from bleeding in the car. That's all Danny. That's all that happened."She almost whispered, this time not looking at Danny at all.
For the first time Sarah was not looking at Danny. Her stare was on the floor in front of her.
"Why Sarah? Why didn't you shoot him?! You knew who Dietz was......."Danny asked her tears in his eyes as he came back near the bed.
"You know why!!!!"She cried out angrily. "You know why Danny!"
Danny closed his eyes and threw his head back as he sighed a shaky sigh.
"He could have killed you Sarah....."Danny whispered as he re- opened his eyes.
"I don't shoot Danny! I do not fire. You know that. You knew that when you gave that gun to me. I told you I don't fire." She reminded him crying.
Her expression was mixed with pain and sadness. Michelle didn't know why but somehow the simple thought of a gun was bringing mixed emotions to Sarah. She could easily understand. The sight of Danny with a gun had almost made her faint. But for Sarah it was different, and Michelle had no idea why.
"To save you life Sarah......To save you life!" Danny shouted through his teeth.
Sarah looked at him straight in the eyes again. Her eyes were filled with more than just tears. She was crying tears of sadness and anger.
"I don't Danny......"She whispered. "You of all people should know that by now!! I don't fire!!"She shouted back. She paused and took a deep breath said: "I never did and I never will......."
Her voice was shaky as she was now crying every tear she had left. Her voice had been barely audible on her last words. Danny reached out to her and took her in his arms. He looked over at Michelle who couldn't help but cry too. She had always been like that. tears came easy to her. She cried at weddings and funerals and movies made her teary and you children left her all mushy. But now she could feel the pain Sarah was trying so desperately to hide. Or maybe she wanted to forget it. Danny eyes were filled with tears.
"I know......I know....."He said as he held her tighter.
She sighed loudly and laughed nervously as she pulled away from Danny. She looked over at Michelle standing up beside them. Her eyes stayed on Michelle as she told Danny : "I'm not the one you should be holding". She smiled friendly to Michelle as Danny looked at his wife, eyes still wet.
