The Masterplan

Part Seven

Jason, Eric and Greta were outside a small store, waiting, shltered from the rain while Cassie, Michelle and Danny were getting some food inside. Many people were hurrying into their cars and homes. After a little while, Eric offered to help Michelle and Danny with the bags so he went inside to find them. Jason and Greta ran to the car and Jason opened the trunk. As he lifted it up over his head, he spotted someone lurking around the parking lot.

"Damnit...." Jason muttered to himself. "What's he doing here?"

Greta looked around herself, not recognizing anyone. she glanced over at Jason, confused and he simply pushed her slightly against the car door. He bent his head down, his hair sticking to his forehead, and he whispered something in her ear.

"Just go along...." he whispered softly.

Just then, he pulled Greta to him and kissed her passionately. Greta's surprise was obvious but she let him kiss her, reluctantly at first. At that same moment, Eric, Cassie, Michelle and Danny came out of the store carrying a couple of paper bags. Eric froze at the sight of Greta and Jason kissing.

Jason, clearly more experienced with kisses than Greta was, wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her closer to his body, as if trying to hide her. Eric watched in silence not knowing exactly what to think or how to react. Danny soone saw what Jason had seen and he dragged Michelle and Cassie back into the store. Eric followed, never leaving Greta out of his sight - Actually never leaving Jason and Greta's passionate kiss.

Just as Jason had seen it coming, Dietz walked passed them, from a far enough distance not to recognize any of them. Soon after Dietz walked away, Jason broke the kiss and slowly let go of a speechless Greta. She had never been kissed like that before. Actually she had never been kissed period. Obviously she hadn't seen it coming at all. she nervously took her hands off of his shoulders and he smiled, apologizing for not warning her. Jason soon turned around, but Dietz had disapeared.

"Who was that?" Greta asked.

"That was Dietz....he is working for Carmen Santos and his presence here doesn't mean anything good." Jason answered.

Cassie, danny, Eric and Michelle soon walked up to them. Michelle and Eric put the bags in the trunk.

Danny and Jason exchanged a strange look that warned Michelle that something was wrong.

"I can't believe he didn't recognize you!" Cassie exclaimed.

Michelle smiled and Greta soon felt embarassed.

"Well let's just say we managed to sink in the crowd." Jason said.

"Yeah we saw...." Eric added closing the turnk.

"Well Stephano's acting lessons finally paid off." Greta smiled as the rest of them all got in Danny's car.

Eric unlocked the doors of his car and opened Greta's. She softly grabbed his arm, before going in and Eric turned around.

"Are you alright?" She asked concerned over his silence.

Eric stared into her dark yet glimmering eyes. He had never realized how much he loved staring into them. What was wrong with him? Why was this kiss bothering him? Greta had the right to kiss whomever she wanted to....Why did it bother him? He kept seeing this image of Jason's arms around Greta but when she smiled to him all he saw was the lovely smile curved on her lips.

"I'm fine. I'll be a lot better when we find out what happened to your mother though." he smiled.

He instinctively put his hand on her waist to help her get inside the car. All Greta could feel was the warmth of his hand on her. She had never felt anything like what she constantly felt when Eric was this close to her. He was the only one who had made her smile through all this time spent searching for answers - that until Michelle and the others came along. She finally felt like she had friends, family.....a life of her own. The next thing she knew, Eric was sitting in the driver's seat , ready to leave the parking lot.

Dietz met up with Carmen in the car. He told her that he did not find anything about Danny and Michelle being here.

"Where on earth could they be?!" Carmen asked angry.

"Don't you have houses here?" Dietz asked.

"No....not in Paris we don't. We don't have a Santos property in Paris, so they must have checked into a hotel." she answered.

Dietz stayed silent for a while then brought himself to ask one more question.

"What about Pilar?" he asked. "I thought she wanted to come with...." he started but was cut off by Carmen.

"We're not here on a vacation Dietz! I do not need my daughter running around and spreading the word that we are here." she spit out.

"Shouldn't you at least have told her that...." he started but yet again couldn't finish his thought.

"Mind your own business Dietz! Don't tell me how to answer to my daughter's requests. I am paying you to drive so just do so. I wouldn't want to have you all confused by thinking about two things at once. Just drive." she ordered and he did just that, not saying a word during the entire trip.

The roads were blocked when Danny arrived at an intersection. He stopped the car and got out to ask the policemen what was going on. This was the only road leading to the cabin in the woods.

"They closed the roads for the night because of last night's storm. aparently they have been having too many accident on this road." Danny explained when he got back in the car.

They turned around and headed to the nearest hotel to spend the night. They booked three rooms, and paid with Danny's credit card. The only thing the man at the front desk knew was that he had given rooms to three seemingly blissful couples who were on a road trip together. Little did he know he was getting himself involved in a lot more than just playing cupid.

Pilar walked outside, secretly, of the Paris airport and quickly took a cab. She immediately asked to be driven to the luxurious Paradise Hotel. She had her hair tied into a pony tail and she was wearing dark sunglasses. When they arrived to the hotel, she paid the driver and hurried inside of the building. There she climbed up to room 207 and knocked on the door. After a few seconds of waiting, the door open and Dietz let her in. The room had all the furnitures needed but otherwise seemed very empty. No bags, no suitcase....Dietz really knew how to travel light. Dietz closed the door behind him, after inspecting the hallway to make sure no one had followed her.
