(Week of 07/07/08) Q: Can I chain [Darkseid, Dark God]'s ability in the Recovery Phase with [Koriand'r <> Starfire, X'Hal's Fury]'s ability to win the game?
A: The answer is in Darkseid's power. It's a double-check power where the condition has to be true or it doesn't trigger and has to remain true or it resolves without effect.
Since Starfire is still non-stunned (or any other characters) at the start of Recovery (since Starfire's effect has not resolved yet), Darkseid's power does not trigger and his effect does not go on the chain and will not result in the auto-win. |
(Week of 06/09/08) Q: If I only have 1 [Jean Grey, Phoenix Force] in the KO'd pile, can I recruit her with [Master Plan]?
A: If Jean Grey is the only Jean Grey in the KO'd pile, you may still recruit her because Master Plan allows you to recruit a target character from the KO'd pile. In order to announce this recruit, there must be a Jean Grey in the KO'd pile, which there is. Upon announcing the recruit, you then take the Jean Grey out of the KO'd pile and put it in the chain. By this time, you already satisfied the recruit requirement even though there are no other Jean Greys in your KO'd pile.

(Week of 06/02/08)
Q: Can [Wonder Woman, Ambassador of Peace] re-direct the recruitment of equipment? A: The answer is yes.
You can only recruit equipment to a target character you control so therefore Wonder Woman can redirect only to another one of the opponent's characters. The target must be legal when you use it but you can also make the target illegal AFTER her effect resolves. For example: Your opponent controls a Deadshot-2 and Punisher-4. He recruits a Fate equipment (any will do). Before that recruit resolves, you use Lynda Carter's ability and redirect the Fartifact to Deadshot-2. Once her effect resolves, but before the recruit resolves, play Flame Trap and stun Deadshot, then when the equipment recruit resolves it will be negated due to no legal target. |

Q: If a recruit is negated, does it still create a "play only if you recruited" modifier? A: In short, negating a recruit effect does not negate the fact that the
character/equipment was recruited. Think of "recruit" as the action of putting the object on the chain. Once the object is on the chain, it is considered "recruited". So, yes even if you were to negate a recruit effect via Coup De Tat or 52,anything that looks for the action of that object being recruited this turn(Reign of Terror) or this game (Punisher-7) will still work. Same goes with Press. |
