The Manifold Trail
The nine mile track runs along a disused railway line, from Hulme End near Hartington to Waterhouses The track provides a good level surface for wheelchair users. The northern part of the track is used by cars. The section from Wetton Mill to Waterhouses is a traffic free section.

There are three good access points, Wetton Mill, Weag's Bridge and Waterhouse Station. All of these have good car parks.

The Weag's Bridge car park is situated on the narrow Grindon to Wetton road, off the B5053. This gives immediate access onto the manifold trail. The trail runs along the side of the river for one mile to Wetton Mill. This section of the track gives spectacular views of Thor's Cave. After a mile the track joins a minor road, continuing along the right hand branch for several hundred yards you will come to a cafe and toilets.

Travelling upstream from Weag's bridge car park, the path continues to follow the river for two miles. The first mile is relatively flat, but then it slopes uphill before joining the main Ashbourn Road.

At Waterhouse Station there are picnic tables, toilets and a cycle hire centre which stocks bikes that have been converted to suit some disabilities.
