My thoughts on UFC 30:
This was a pretty good event. Most fights were very fast. The one that went the distance was kinda frustrating but it was pretty exiting. Pretty good event. Has some very nice knockouts, escpecially the main event.
Mark Robinson is a big wrestler. Bobby Hoffman is a big puncher. Should be good right? Kinda. Robinson pinned Hoffman against the cage for a couple minutes before Hoffman got enough space between them to land an elbow to Robinson's face. Robinson went out. Pretty impressive for Hoffman.
Winner: Hoffman by KO in the first round.
This was a pretty good fight. Sinosic hung out until it went to the ground and he hooked in the armbar. Pretty darned efficient.
Winner: Elvis Sinosic by armbar in the first round.
Same as above. Iha waited for his move and caught Johns in an armbar. Pretty quick match also.
Winner: Fabiano Iha by armbar in the first round.
Rizzo is a dangerous standup fighter. Everyone knows it. Even he does. He does a lot of work to train on the ground because people always just try to take him to the ground to fight. Barnett had a different strategy. Stand right there in front of him and hit him back. The sad thing is it worked for almost 2 rounds. Then Rizzo caught up with him and knocked him out late in the second round. Barnett looked pretty impressive. Rizzo is just too tough. Good fight.
Winner: Rizzo by KO in second round.
This was good. Uno looked awesome and Pulver is really good at avoiding take downs. I say it was iritating because Uno kept coming and Pulver kept avoiding a fight. Pulver wins the decision but I disagree. He landed the punches better and moved forward most of the fight. It just bothers me when fighters avoid the ground so much. It sucks but the new UFC bantam weight champion was scared to death of his opponent.
Winner: Pulver by judges decision.
During their little schpeel before the fight they painted Even Tanner as someone who didn't really know what he was doing. I don't know if that was what they were going for but that is what I got from it. Then they show Tito as the ultimate bad ass. Tito came out and proved they were right. He got close to Tanner and then picked him up and dropped him down on his head....effectively knocking his monkey ass out. Good showcase for Tito.
