FIRST ROUND
Emanuel Yarborough Vs. Keith Hackney
WINNER: The biggest fighter in the history of the octagon gets ripped in two by a two hundred pound guy who earns the nickname...the giant killer. Hackney by KO. Very entertaining...Hackney gets pushed out of the octagon and comes back in, really mad, and ready to go. This one forces the UFC to put a deadbolt on the octagon door. Hackney also damaged the soft tissue in his hand and couldn't continue...alternate number 1 steps in.
Ken Shamrock Vs. Christopher Leininger
WINNER: Tough fight for Shamrock. He finally gets the mount and ends up winning by tapout from strikes.
WINNER: Howard whoops Payne in 45 seconds. Payne gives it a go. Has a lot heart but gets beaten bad.
WINNER: This stands today as one of the best fights in the history of the UFC. Kimo gave Gracie a run but ended up gassing himself out. Also memorable for the huge cross Kimo comes out carrying. Gracie lasts the storm and wins by arm lock.
WINNER: Shamrock wins another tough match. This one, however, he cannot continue from. Enter alternate number 2, steve jennum.
WINNER: As intersting as this would have been Gracie comes in and throws in the towell. In an amazing show of poor taste and bad sportsmanship Kimo and his asshole manager Joe Son come in and throw their hands in the air like they won something.
WINNER: Jennum comes in without fighting anyone and beats Howard with strikes on the ground. Fighting only once, he wins an 8 man tournament. I know, it sucks.
Steve Jennum, champion of UFC 3 without really doing anything. He takes home $60,000 for showing up.
UFC 3, in total, was a joke. It was a good lesson for the UFC to learn and probably a reason they did away with the tournament eventually. It is worth a watch for the amazing fight between Royce Gracie and Kimo. Kimo being the only person to date to really challenge the Brazillian Jiu Jitsu fighter. This one has the biggest fighter to throw down in the history of the UFC. Let's survey the damage...
