A Naturist View of Nature

Attempting to dispel mysticism, superstition & uncertainty with objective science

Naturist view

We must pay due respect to the supernatural, else …?

  • A prevalent misconception about the presence, power & penalty of supernatural stuff
  • Presence: note that every culture has its own supernatural, thus it is an integrated portion of the cultural system & human society. Questioning what it is, why and where leads to further confusion
  • Power: the ability to influence & be influenced is a matter of perception, just like money has no power if everyone disregards it. Promote balance through homeostasis
  • Penalty: blatant disregard, disrespect and despise promote ill-will, turbulence & ignite primal fire within us. An animal in the wild can never be vigilant enough lest the predator prevails

We better watch out for our chi lest bad luck descends on us?

  • 气: 指自然界冷熱陰晴等現象, 中醫指人體內發揮機能的原動力
  • Definition: originating in the Far East, Chi (China), Ki (Japan) & Prana (India) are one & the same; it is the force
  • Force: Chi can be interpreted as corollary to Newtonian or quantum force (not because they are the same entity, but their effects can be analysed in the same way)
  • Analysis: in science, statics (equilibrium or balance of stationary forces) & dynamics (unbalance of forces, causing motions & disturbance) coexist in any complete system. Dynamics links two static states, but at constant time, t, a dynamic state is actually a static one.
  • Chi analysis: in the same way, chi can be either static (yin) or dynamic (yang). Through this characteristics of stillness and motion, effects on all objects within the system are generated. If the effects are perceived as favourable, it is good luck & vice versa

Chi cannot be tempered lest it becomes worse?

  • Just as we cannot let a child drive a lorry or a gardener to design the next astronomical spaceship, Chi like any things that confronts us, must be understood before usage
  • Origin: the beginning of Chi is as unanswerable as God. It is open to subjective interpretations, but what is certain is the context or system that Chi operates - macro-view (Universe), micro-view (Earth, nation, person, house, company, etc.)
  • Property: the characteristic properties of Chi are its fluid nature, penetration ability, phenomenal effects & interactivity , similar to waves
  • Fluid nature: Chi flows like water, expands (or contracts) like gas, coheres like solids. Fluid mechanics and dynamics principles apply to Chi due to its fluid nature
  • Penetration: Chi always passes around, goes through or stays within all objects. Radioactivity, electromagnetism, quantum dynamics, etc. applies
  • Phenomenon: Chi generates and alters effects that might be perceived through the senses in varying degrees. These effects can be physical, chemical, biological, etc.
  • Interactivity: Chi is adaptive & re-generative, continuously being created, changed & destroyed from mutual interactivity
  • Application: all research has its end in use, thus by thoroughly understanding Chi context & properties, it can be harnessed for good use - medicine, acupuncture, science, technology, fulfillment, etc.

Yin is womanly, Yang is manly?

  • The Taoist view based on yin and yang offers one comprehensive way of naturist view & there are other ways
  • Yin (static Chi) & Yang (dynamic Chi) can be considered in the three aspects of Chi - context, properties & use
  • Context: the system under which yin & yang operate; in Universe, the patterns, motions & changes to galaxies, planets & asteroids; on Earth, the positions of the sun, moon and planets as well as seasons; in life, the patterns, changes and evolutions of events of person & the surroundings
  • Properties: with different properties, Chi can be classified into various types having favourable or unfavourable effects
  • Use: application seeks a state of balance (yin = yang), amidst disturbances, changes and chaos. The basic principles are all things are unbalanced, seeking balance with flux mixtures of yin & yang, which are mutually attracting & restraining
