Society-self

  • A society can be any congregation of people
  • A self can be any volatile state of heart
  • In an overview of living, there is no distinction between society & self for both are of one – the one-ness of life
  • However,
  • When life comes down to the specifics, like zooming in for magnification, disparity, difference & distribution are increasingly enhanced
  • Differentiations & distinctions are not only prevalent, but necessary for life in its overall one-ness to continue
  • This comes from the intrinsic nature of life – its relativity that leads to segmentation & inter-connections
  • To see relative phenomenon is to compare & contrast – to bring out, to separate from the whole, from the one-ness
  • In segregation comes segmentation, from segmentation comes u, me & them termed society
  • From society comes further segmentation due to its relativity comes further u, me & them termed self
  • This process of segregation, segmentation & sectoring can be infinite, like the fractals of chaotic origins
  • Who says life is not chaotic?
  • This gives rise to living units – perceptual, idealistic models segregated from the wholistic reality termed divisionism
  • But, "No man is an island" – the living units are actually coupled, inter-related, inter-connected, inter-active components of the living whole
  • For life to continue, segregation & inter-connections need to progress in tandem, inseparable without the other
  • To live is to separate, yet to live is to relate
  • Isn’t it intriguing?

Harmonics of life

  • In the music of life, the one-ness is the composition that dynamically resonates throughout
  • To sound living, the music needs to be cohesive, synchronous & continuously flowing
  • Cohesion implies bonding & coupling within segregation & segmentation
  • Synchronism encompasses simultaneity & spontaneity
  • Continuity embodies progression in one-ness
  • Let’s take the view of society-self
  • Cohesion requires first, segregation, then coupling & vice versa
  • The living units can experience 4 experiences:
  1. Unconnected, Separated: displaced, dislodged & disengaged from the whole, feeling lonely
  2. Inter-connected, Unseparated: going with the whole, feeling moved
  3. Inter-connected but Separated: maintaining a distance with the whole, feeling cautious
  4. Unconnected, Unseparated: unsegregated, unbonded, feeling undisturbed
  • Synchronism needs bonding between the inter-connected as well as realization of the unconnected
  • Continuity, stemmed from the one-ness of life, ensures the ever-flowing of the music of life
  • Segregating music, it can be composed of tones, pitches, highs & lows, different instruments played by different people at different times & places with different feelings
  • Connecting music, the sounds, rhythms & rhapsodies fuse together in cohesion, synchronism & continuity
  • Yet,
  • When the musical units are segregated, they have its own attributes
  • In itself, it is segregated & inter-connected
  • Continuity of each musical unit amidst the highs & lows – its harmonics
  • Harmonics can be recurring, periodic, cyclic nature with arbitrary periods & starting conditions (though the head would end in its tail)
  • The ensemble of musical units gives rise to ensemble harmonics – the combinations of decentralized highs & lows within the central one-ness
  • Yet, in the whole, the unit harmonics are not lost but merged in
  • Any tune of life would then be composed of the bonding of society-self harmonics of which there are 4 aspects:
  1. High harmonics: low periods, rapidly recurring, fast-paced, accelerating, feeling tensed
  2. Medium harmonics: nominal periods, unhurried, feeling in equilibrium
  3. Low harmonics: large periods, slowly recurring, slow-paced, decelerating, feeling relaxed
  4. Non-harmonics: arbitrary periods, coming from without (society tunes) or from within (self tunes), feeling confused
  • At the singularity of living one-ness, the music of life ceases its resonance due to mutual cancellation of cohesion, synchronism & continuity
  • As trajectory travels away from the singularity, the music of life is amplified together with relativity as well as segregation & interconnection
  • The music that we hear is then the result of segregation & bonding
  • The life that we live is the ensemble of one-ness (heavenly tunes), society (earthly tunes) & self (heart tunes)
  • The ensemble nature of life would mask its intrinsic, inherent & integral harmonics
  • Yet they are not lost, they can be masked, over-shadowed, over-looked or even ignored
  • But they (the segregated harmonics) are real & truly present, here together with anyone of us
  • To uncover these harmonics is to be aware, is to be listening, is to be feeling, is to be low frequency
  • To understand these harmonics is of high-frequency feeling
  • To neglect these harmonics is of non-harmonics
  • To feel these harmonics is of medium frequency, the shortest to either extremes

Living

  • Living exhibits:
  1. Separations: expect, be ready to accept at medium frequency
  2. Inter-connections, coupling, bonding: embrace at low frequency
  3. Cyclic harmonics: follow closely at high frequency; when down, prepare for rise; when up, be cautious
  • A fulfilling life is a wholesome life, one approximating one-ness
  • It is also a balanced firm-flexible life, thoroughly embodying the three living natures, yet able to maneuver effortlessly
