| As of 2001, Ossie Solem, who spent a third of his coaching career at Drake, was 49th in all-time major college wins. Under Solem, Drake played a national schedule and finished undefeated in 1922. Before bowls became commonplace, he scheduled season-ending games in the South, California, and Hawaii. |
