| Drake's tradition was to grant students a "skip day" on the Monday following a homecoming victory. After the win over Kansas State Teachers College, about 2,000 students reportedly boarded buses for downtown--where they "joined a huge snake dance which wound its way down Locust and up 7th street, through Younkers, through the Savery hotel, and on to the capitol cheering and singing all the way." |
