| Construction of Drake Stadium Drake's first stadium was Haskins Field, built in a ravine north of the campus. The 1904 structure had a seating capacity of 2,500, which was expanded to 6,700 in 1907. The new stadium (capacity 18,000) was built on the same site, with the football field sunken below the track. The adjacent Drake Fieldhouse was part of the same building project. |
