John Ware--Signed with San Francisco 49ers (cut preseason); head coach, Truman State and Missouri Southern; died 2005.
Dan Turk--Transferred to Wisconsin after attendance requirements forced Drake football to I-AA level; drafted by Pittsburgh Steelers, 1985; 15-year NFL career (Steelers, Buccaneers, Raiders, Redskins); died 2000.
Craig Wederquist--Associated Press I-AA All-American (1982); played for USFL champion Michigan Panthers; former Drake assistant coach (1985); former head coach, Tarleton State (TX); assistant coach, Nevada-Las Vegas. |
