Biography of Peter Christian Lutkin
(1858-1931)
Born: March 27, 1858, Thompsonville, Wisconsin.
Died: December 27, 1931, Evanston, Illinois.
Composer and conductor, Lutkin studied music in Europe. He served as church organist at St. Clement�s and St. James, Chicago, Illinois, in the 1880�s and 1890�s. Around 1895, he founded the School of Music at Northwestern University. He also helped found the American Guild of Organists and the North Shore Festival in Chicago, Illinois.
