Convert all identified MS Access systems to become Y2K compliant.
The RACV decided to retain the use of MS Access Version 2.0 into the year 2000, even though the software is not Y2K compliant.
The RACV is a major Victorian insurance company, specialising in vehicle insurance and extending into the general insurance area.
My duties were to convert application systems written in MS Access version 2.0 to become Y2K compliant, for all Business Units of the RACV; all system modifications were documented.
Before and after logs of the application systems were recorded by “On Mark 2000 Assess 3.0”, a special Y2K software tool that examines MS Access systems for non-compliant components. Each identified non-compliance was analysed and an explanation was documented.
Each system was system tested prior to user acceptance testing, and then put back into production.
