NAOMI GJEVRE                         VIOLIN
A native of Minnesota, Naomi Gjevre began her musical studies at
the age of five. In 1987 she started her formal training at the University
of Colorado at Boulder, under the guidance of Oswald Lehnert, continuing
the following year at the University of Minnesota.  Her teachers in the
latter institution included Roland and Almita Vamos, with whom she studied
until her graduation in 1992, earning the Bachelor of Music degree. In 1994
she received her Master of Music degree from Florida State University,
where she is currently pursuing the Doctor of Music degree under the
guidance of Professor Karen Clarke.

Ms. Gjevre has been a member of the Lindsayan String Quartet since
1993.  Between 1995 and 1997, she was appointed Artist in Residence under a
National Endowment for the Arts Chamber Music Residency at Western Kentucky
University in Bowling Green.  Most recently, in association with the
Lindsayan String Quartet and the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale, she
has been appointed Artist in Residence in Midland-Odessa, Texas.

Ms. Gjevre's orchestral experience includes the Savannah Symphony
Orchestra, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and the North Carolina
School of the Arts Orchestra with which she toured several European
countries including France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.

Ms. Gjevre has participated in several chamber music festivals
including the Aspen Music Festival, the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, The
Quartet Program, and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cochabamba in
Bolivia, South America.  In addition, she has performed as concerto soloist
with the Trujillo Symphony in Peru.
