MORRIS
Morris is a name
on my Mother's side. Other than my grandfather and his sister, I
didn't know any other members of the family. I do know that J.O.
(my grandfather) came from Raywick, Marion County, Kentucky and moved to
Tiskilwa, Bureau County, IL. Period. That's the extent of my
actual knowledge. I was given a booklet entitled "The Morris Family
1801 - 1977" about 20 years ago. Never really gave it too much thought
until I jumped into genealogy with full force about 4 years ago.
Sure, I had dabbled with it some back when I got the booklet, but it wasn't until my cousin,
James C. Morris, came to visit that I really decided to do something. After talking to my parents, well,
things took off from there.
Even my mother
doesn't know too much about her family, Living in Illinois until
she married in 1950, she was never exposed to the Morris's of Kentucky.
She had seen some, but as far as getting to know where they came from,
who did what, or why they even settled in that region, it's all speculation.
The following
pedigree is just a small sampling of what is in "The Morris Family
1801-1977". Any name that "looks" misspelled is as it is spelled
in the book. Also, what I have listed is a small bit of the MORRIS
book. I have mainly just listed my lines. The descendants of
most of the 4th generation are listed in this book as well as some descendants
from the 5th generation. If anything looks familiar, give me a shout.
