The six founding mothers, Sandra Mosquera, Lisette Pineda, Maria Fritz, Glorivy Arce, Ebony Robinson, and Nancy Martinez, (eternally known as our Six Pillars of Strength) had the dream of uniting and strengthening the oppressed woman. Through Support, Service, Sisterhood, and Education, a strong woman rises to be a prominent leader in the community. We exist to empower ourselves as strong, thoughtful and intelligent women by educating and enriching one another with the knowledge of the many mysteries of our varied cultures. Members of Lambda Pi Upsilon have and will forever continue to overcome the challenges confronted by women of color.
